Dr. Russell Bruce Prince, MD

Please consider going to another psychiatrist if you are overweight. Dr. Prince has a problem with overweight patients. I finally realized that my session was different if I had gained any weight. I always left with very low self-esteem about it in addition to my actual depression he was treating me for. I drove from out of town for my sessions with him and finally decided that it might help me if we had phone sessions. He was willing to do this and it helped me tremendously with my self-esteem and I dealt with my depression better. I realized all this was wrong and finally asked him why he had a problem with patients that struggled with their weight. He admitted that he didn't like anyone who was overweight and carried around fat and that he had always been that way. There is a term for a person like this. I feel that Dr. Prince is a fat shamer. Two doctors told me to find another psychiatrist. I stayed with him because he was so helpful and kind to me during our scheduled… phone sessions. I am now not a patient of Dr. Prince. I realize now all of this fat shaming was horribly wrong.

Dr Prince takes his time with his patients, is very easy to talk to and I have always had a great experience with him.

Dr. Prince changed my life. I am grateful for his accurate diagnosis, ease of appointment, and very caring personality.
