Dr. Russell Seomon Thomas

I was sick for several years. I accepted my health as being older. Went to a Northside Gastro doctor and to no avail. I ended up with a list foods I couldn't eat. My diet became crackers and green tea. Family would invite me to dinner I would have to decline. . My family would ask me what I was doing and I would answer laying in bed eating crackers and watching tv. I spent almost 2 yrs feeling lousy. Then one visit to Dr. Thomas! He listened to me and examined me and he said get your gallbladder out and you will feel good again. I said OK! He did a few tests and my gallbladder was removed. Happy Ending! That's the kind of doctor I want to take care of me for the rest of my life. Cindy

I would not be comfortable having any other doctor as my primary care physician. You won't be disappointed with his care.

Dr.Russell Thomas is very good at his profession. I visited him for my annual check-up. He had patience in listening to my concerns, and analyze how to improve my overall well being. The only thing I didn't like is the administrative staff, Pretty unwelcoming. Overall, it was a good experience.

The trust level we have in Dr. Thomas is great. He listens to your concerns patiently, asks relevant questions, and performs exams with care and accuracy. He has always reviewed your file before seeing you. Never hearing as we did with another doctor - oh I ordered a blood test?...duh. Dr. Thomas has the results in front of him to discuss AND a copy for your file. He thinks outside the box which is unusual for any doctor. He is hands on, and we truly appreciate that he is our primary. We feel lucky to have such a caring and straight-forward doctor who puts the patient first.

Buyer beware. Northside Family Medicine and Urgent Care is being run by a bunch low class, no talent people that DO NOT CARE enough to be professional and at the top of their industry. I've been coming to this office for almost 10 years and I've seen the best and the worst. Dr. Russell Thomas is truly an amazing doctor and I am sure he is also a great mentor. However, it is unfortunate that is he confined to only this office to practice out of. This might be a personal choice to which I respect but he could be a much better doctor he had the proper tools and people at his disposal. As for the Urgent Care side of this story... well, I would rather pay for emergency services than pay for urgent care just to be told by the urgent care staff that I should go to the hospital. There was once a time where I cut my hand really bad, and the awesome staff at the time (5+ years ago) took care of me and stitched the wound up. Now, this place won't even administer an IV. There is nothing Urgent… about this place except for their need to talk and gossip to each other. Goodbye Dr. Thomas. It was fun while it lasted.

The office is clearly poorly run. You might be greatly inconvenienced if you rely on what the staff tells you. Even if they call you to confirm. Mistakes happend but an apology might have gone a long way but what do you expect? Not a good experience, at all.
