Dr. Russell I Voltin, MD

I went to Dr. Voltin for a year and a half. In the beginnint, I believed he had my best interest in mind. As time went by, I started to notice more and more that he was ignoring everything I said to him. He continued to prescribe me medication that made my mental health decline, and kept putting me on more medications so that I would reach the minimum amount required to do TMS, or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. He pressed me on many occasions to do TMS, which I did end up doing, still with no luck. I told him I was worse than ever, and his solution was to put me back on the first 4 antidepressants that not only failed me, but left me utterly emotionless and hopeless and was ruining my daily life and relationships. I asked him on many occasions, after doing my own research, to reassess my mental diagnosis. There was more going on for me than he would recognize or even give me a minute to explain, as he did not care. He shut down every single thing I asked or explained, and even… laughed in my face for speaking on them. I have been off medication for a year now in attempt to regain my emotions and my former self with only a little bit of luck. In desperation, I came back recently. He again, ignored me, shut me down, and tried to put me on the same medications and press me to do TMS again, insisting that it helped me as I insisted that it did not. I will never go back. He is inconsiderate and small minded and rude, which is not a good way to be considering his profession is solely for helping people with mental health issues. I left his office days ago in tears. Even his student he had sitting in on my visit wanted to speak up, stopping him, but was afraid to. This young man almost had tears in his eyes. He wanted to help, to do the right thing, but he couldn't, as a student only there for observation. I would never recommend Dr. Voltin to anyone again. He has left me feeling hopeless in my search for help with my mental health.

Arrogant. Abusive with words. I had to see him when my regular doctor was no available. Not willing too interact or listen to patient.

Dr.Voltin has been my provider for many years and made an accurate diagnosis. I have referred patients to him and they too are very satisfied with him.

I really like Dr Voltin. He is a very quiet doctor which I seem to like. I like someone that will listen to me and consider my best health options. He was caring and very smart. He also does TMS which is a AWESOME treatment. He has actually gotten me off of all my medications with TMS.

Without a doubt, the worse doctor I have ever seen. Zero compassion or understanding.

Dr. Voltin is ok, JUST OK. Very Uptight. Not too friendly. He doesn't seem to care very much about the patient's needs if it means he will have to prescribe a medication that is even close to being the dreaded N word. (Narcotic) or a Schedule Medication (Sarcasm). Very disappointed in this Doctor. I searched around for weeks to try to find someone that could help me with an addiction problem that I am currently having. You can tell him what you are experiencing 3 or 4 appointments in a row and basically beg him to help you or at least to TRY a different medication. Not happening, he seems to always think that you're there to try and screw him over and get some type of medication to get high off of. Even if its changing an anti-depressant. Ridiculous. The rest of the staff and secretary's are easy to work with though. But, if your looking for a doctor that truly cares about your addiction and will try a variety of medications that can be used to help you through your problem you might… as well forget it with this guy. If someone knows of a better psychiatrist that actually cares and will try some meds that can help with depression and lethargy could you please post for me? Thanks

Total waste of time. I basically told him what I wanted to do with my treatment and he would write the meds. Just stared at his computer the whole time and didn't listen. Follow ups lasted about 5 mins. Getting samples or precerts for brand medicines from his office is a nightmare. He even forgot to write one of my prescriptions once. Will not give any refills so you have to make appointments every month to see him for 5 minutes so he can charge you $150.

Really hesitant to write this review. Have never written negative review about anyone before. Had high hopes at first. My last two visits, he has failed to send one of my prescription to my pharmacy. The one prescription he did send, was an incorrect dosage. Has caused me so much stress, my meds are to keep me awake and have had to drive 2 hours without them, very frightening. The first time, he did send prescription to near pharmacy after 3 days of calling back and forth, because no one ever answers the phone in this office. Patient has to leave message and someone one gets back to you, however often details are lost in translation. This time I was told medication has been classified that it can not be called in or faxed. No effort to help at all, I'm 2 hours away from and no meds to help me stay awake.

Nice person, good doctor. He was helpful to me. He gave me samples of medicine I could not afford. He listened to me and we talked. Diagnosis and treatment seemed appropriate.

Do not go to this man. He did more damage than good when he "treated " my husband.
