Neat doctor with broad interests. Is presently supervising wound healing. Only comes down to Big Island once a month from Honolulu - so need to wait a month between appointments

My mom has been in the hospital for over a month now. My family takes an active part in her care and make it a point to be continually informed by her doctors of her medical condition. Dr. Wong, who I have never seen before until last night, UNFORTUNATELY paid a visit to my mom. As we were trying to relay information to him given to us by her PRIMARY doctor and nurses, he was totally rude and spoke to us in a condescending tone. He did not want to hear anything we had to say. No patient and/or their family members should be treated the way he treated us. Where does one doctor who makes ONE single visit to a patient thinks he knows more than the patients PRIMARY doctor and their family members who have been there every step of the way? He discounted everything we were saying and every remark from him was to literally cut us off. My advice to anyone who is in need of an Infectious Specialist is to steer clear of Russell D. Wong, "MD". **The only reason I am rating this doctor with… one star is because it is a required field.

Dr. Wong is a poor example for a doctor. My family member is very ill and has been in the hospital. Dr. Wong came into the room to talk to the patient, we as family members were there as we take an active part in her medical care. Dr. Wong was extremely rude and condescending. He discredited everything we had to say even when we repeated what the primary doctor had said. He was short and abrupt as if we were wasting his time. NO patient should be treated this way.

Why did this individual ever become a medical doctor? He has a complete lack of courtesy, care, and compassion / respect for his patients. It's not enough just to be techicall competent. He was rude and abrupt and I am wondering if he would find it acceptable if someone treated his father or mother in this manner.
