Dr. Ruth Blash, MD

Dad was in her care for years, she never picked up on atherosclerosis that contributed to his death. We went regularly and had his blood tests done routinely. He was taking his meds as prescribed. But he was getting significantly worse so I got involved. I asked for a bunch of extra tests and was emphatic something was wrong. He was falling all the time and having to go to the ER regularly. I told my dad to disclose his actual alcohol consumption (bc I believe he downplayed it significantly when it was just him attending to his health). She told me to “just not let him have alcohol”. This is dangerous advice bc someone who had drank for 40 years needs medical supervision to stop, it’s unsafe otherwise. He needed rehab, not his daughter to be told repeatedly that this situation was her responsibility. Anyway, he started having severe neurological issues and it took me at least 15 calls over 5 days for someone to get back to me, with unhelpful advice. I started searching… for a neurologist out of the practice, believing this could be the reason for his issues as no help or direction was coming from Dr. Blash’s office, they had no zero suggestions on what new disease or disorder could making his condition worsen. Basically I felt we were being ignored. My efforts to get him an expedited neurology appt outside of Caremount were too late though, we never made it to the neurology appointment bc my dad died shortly after. And until the autopsy I had no idea what happened. When dr blash called me to express condolences she added that she hoped I could get over *my* guilt. I told her I didn’t have any guilt, I did the absolute best I could for him, including trying to convince my dad to get a different doctor.

She makes up her own mind about things without doing the proper tests. Very presumptive and condescending when asked to elaborate. Talks to the computer screen more than to the patient. Will not see her again.

Dr. Blash is a great listener and practitioner. In particular, I've had very cumbersome medical forms to deal with the past few weeks, and she and her assistant have been there every step of the way in helping me with my forms. Thank you, Dr. Blash!

Dr. Blash is very down to earth, she is friendly and I feel she knows her stuff.

Went for routine physical ended up with thousands of dollars in medical bill.All minor known health issues like slight imperfect cholestrol, discussed with her become a chargeable diagnosis, beware of all those unnecessary tests she puts you through not paid by your insurance. Not recommend anyone going to this money grabbing practice

The nurse is wonderfully kind and intelligent. Both doctors know their stuff! They like to be thorough amdv encourage questions. They don't do that bum-rush to be done. This sometimes will dometimes cause a small wait in the waiting room but the pay off is well worth it!

The wait time at Dr Ruths is a bit long, I'll agree. But I never have a problem getting in. I think her staff is kind. I like the one girl Sherry, she is very sweet and always smiling! Dr Ruth has always diagnosed me accurately. I never feel rushed. She can talk a lot, but that's Dr Ruth! She even calls you to see how you are doing! I like her. I have been her pt for a long time.
