Dr. Ruth A Dwyer, MD

My children saw multiple pediatricians during their younger years. Dr. Dwyer, by far, provided the most thorough exams covering all aspects of my children’s health. She explained everything she was doing and why it was important. We left her appointments feeling like we had received the best care for our girls. I am surprised by a few of the other reviews. I wonder if they are reviewing the right person.

I had the unfortunate experience of having Ruth Dwyer as our doctor in the hospital when my 5-day old son was hospitalized because of a high bilirubin count. Never in our lives have my husband, sister-in-law, or myself been treated so badly in a hospital setting or, really, by any professional of any kind. Her treatment of us was incredibly condescending, completely unprofessional, and downright rude. Please only visit this woman if you have the exact same opinions as she, or if you are willing to acquiesce to her every demand. She does not tolerate questions or different of opinion well!!!!!

I absolutely love Dr Dwyer. She was the pediatrician for my 3 boys forever. I have since moved and miss her very much. I will never find another like her.

Not happy with there use of antibiotics..poor attitude also...left in search of someone that understands my concerns

Dr. Dwyer is almost always running late, even if we're the first appointment of the day. She asks questions but instead of listening to the whole answer, she hears the first three words and assumes the rest. She spends more time talking about her kids than ours. She has very strong opinions on parenting, and has a hard time accepting that other methods may be just as valid as hers. She encouraged us to feed our kids processed food because it's easy. Her approach to exams seems to be get it over with quickly instead of going slowly and gently, and my kids end up looking a little shell-shocked and terrified when she's done. We never know what we're going to get from her - she tends to have mood swings.
