Ruth Fredericks, MD, is a Mississippi native who graduated from Millsaps College with a Bachelor of Science. During this time, she worked in the vascular lab at the Department of Surgery at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, which is where she went on to receive her medical degree. Dr. Fredericks then completed her internship and residency at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina. Neurologic oncology was the focus of Dr. Frederick’s fellowship training at Duke University, and the focus areas of her practice include neurologic oncology and the treatment of multiple sclerosis. In addition to her very busy clinic, Dr. Fredericks leads the Comprehensive Stroke Center at St. Dominic’s.

She have the brain of a genius but she has the bedside manner of a buzzard.

Dr. Fredericks is very smart, but you will wait HOURS past your wait time. The online portal is a path to no response. Leaving a message is a path to no response. The only good time with this doctor is the 5 minutes or so you are in the room together. If you have a problem you will NEVER see her while it is going on. The office staff is TERRIBLE. My advice, find another neurologist and save tons of aggravation.

Dr. Fredericks is an excellent, excellent neurologist! She treated my daughter who has a spinal cord injury, and set her on the right course. There is a reason she has such a sterling reputation!

I have moved back home to South Carolina and boy do I miss Dr. Ruth! I have looked and looked for a neurologist that comes close to her and have been sadly disappointed. Ready to call her for a 8 hr drive to Mississippi to see her. Yep long wait times but worth the wait trust me. Here short wait times but the concern and care is just not the same so far. Mississippi is very lucky to have her, and boy do I miss the care I was getting.

Waited in her waiting room for 3 full hours. My appointment was a 1:30pm, I arrived at 1:15. At 4:25 I was escorted to a room where Dr Fredericks walked in, said she would change my medicine and walked out. And then charged my insurance the highest level possible. She did not actually lay a finger on me, touch, or examine me in any way! Wont go back.

I saw her once. Got a MRI and EEG done then could not get another appointment not would anyone call me back!!! I called for almost two months. I had to leave messages and my calls were NOT returned.
