Dr. Ruth Herman Steinman, MD

Saw her for over three months for anxiety and depression. She put me on a medication that only enhanced my symptoms, and caused lots of other horrible ones! Despite my complaints, she wouldn’t change her treatment plan, only encouraged me to take slightly less of the medication. Were it not for an emergency appointment and immediate medicine change, I shudder to imagine what would have happened to me. Her tone was compassionate (the reason for two stars), but her over reliance on one drug is recipe for disaster!

Among the worst experiences with a physician that I've ever had. She demonstrated poor listening and note taking, confusing the facts of my case and the treatment plan that she had outlined. Forced follow-on paid appointment rather than being available for minor interim adjustment as she had described herself being. I would not recommend working with this physician.

I thought just the opposite. She reacted to me by shaking her head, shrugging her shoulders , and rolling her eyes. I thought this was very unprofessional. She needs to practice "her unsurprised look" in the mirror. Yuck.

This doctor does not return calls. she did not return my request for proof That I paid for sessions so I could get reimbursed by my insurance. She had no expression or personality during sessions. In my opinion she is no genius with medication.
