Dr. Ruth Reposa Wiley, DO

Dr. Wiley, Ruthie (PA), and Tammy (RN) are an awesome team!! They have been super knowledgeable, helpful, and compassionate during my pregnancy. At my appointment today they went above and beyond to help us out and reassure us that our baby is healthy. I am looking forward to the next appointment and feel extremely confident with their care and expertise. Also, the office staff have been great. They seem very organized and are pleasant to work with. The entire office is helpful when it comes to billing and insurance concerns.

I had an appointment scheduled for 3 pm. At 5:15 pm when I still had not been seen I spoke with the receptionist and she said it would probably be 45 more minutes! I was never informed about the extensive wait or the cause. I was told by another patient that everyone from the morning had been rescheduled for the afternoon. The office should have rescheduled my appointment for another day or at least informed me of the extensive wait time. I had a family function at 6 pm so after 2 hr 15 min I walked away with not being seen. Unacceptable!

There was a time when I would have recommended Dr. Wiley wholeheartedly to anyone who asked. She delivered my baby in 2012, and I loved her. She delivered my second in 2018... and it was a completely different experience. This practice is now incredibly disorganized. They NEED to have automated charts with a portal, like almost every other practice of this size. ESPECIALLY because Dr. Wiley is now constantly unavailable and hands off with her patients. Her PAs do most of the prenatal care. It doesn't matter who you make the appointment with; even if Dr. Wiley is there, you will still probably wind up with a PA. It just "depends on who grabs the chart," according to the nurses. I think I saw Dr. Wiley 4 times my entire pregnancy, despite specifically scheduling with her every time. Meanwhile, my first trimester was complicated, and I saw about 3 different providers within that time. They kept scheduling me follow-up appointments, and then when I would go to them, I would be seen… by somebody different who had NO idea why I was there. I had to explain everything every time. I even had to explain to the sonographer why I was there when I went in for non-routine sonograms, because he didn't have access to my paper chart. I had labs missed. Dr. Wiley had no idea that I had suffered a miscarriage a month and a half before my pregnancy. She never saw me during my miscarriage, or during my annual when I mentioned I was having trouble conceiving. Her PA handled all of that. Nobody reads charts here. One of the PAs (Mindy), came into my room and cheerily congratulated me on my twins, without bothering to read the chart and realize I was *losing one of them.* She then gave me a dire prognosis about my remaining baby. I was worried sick for an entire month, and then heard from the other PA (Ruthie- who is GREAT) at my next visit that what I was experiencing (a small subchorionic hematoma) was very common and likely to resolve itself, which it did. A month of constant anxiety for nothing. I think this practice has become too large, and they're having trouble handling the volume. I do love Dr. Wiley, no issues at all with her personally, I just hardly every got to see her. It felt like she was my surgeon (c-section), not my physician. I didn't even get a chance to thank her or let her meet my baby, because I was handed off to her PA for my postpartum appointments, too. I recommended her to my little sister-in-law, and she was handed off to a PA on her first ever appointment, AFTER waiting two hours. That was it for me. In contrast, in 2012, I didn't see a PA once my entire pregnancy. Dr. Wiley was the doctor who dragged in the sonogram machine (when I could tell she was at the end of a long day and tired) to check for a heartbeat and give me peace of mind early in my pregnancy. She was there every step of the way- before, during and after. I developed a wonderful doctor/patient relationship with her, and was so excited to walk through my next pregnancy with her. Nope. I'm glad Dr. Wiley has found success, and I'm sure she is very busy, but that personal touch was what made her practice great. This practice has lost itself. Until they can work out scheduling and organization, and for the love of God AUTOMATE their charts so things don't keep getting missed, this practice will continue going downhill. And it breaks my heart.

I am not sure why there are any negative reviews about dr Wiley. I’ve had several issues with my pregnancy and both Dr Wiley and her PA Ruthie took time to explain things to me and most important to listen to my concerns and answer all questions I’ve had. Because my BP was running high for several weeks Dr Wiley for the safety of the babt wanted to induce me once I hit 37 weeks but took a long time to listen to my concerns and the fact that I closely monitored my BP at home (I am a nurse) and agreed on serial BP check at the OB triage and if lower to wait (again) for my preeclampsia lab workup. My BP was lower at the hospital and labs once again negative and I was able to be discharged. Went into labor naturally a few days later and had the best experience ever with everyone including Dr Wiley partners. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Wiley’s office and her staff. I probably should add i was a little more than emotional throughout the pregnancy and they did fabulous job… handling me ;-)

Dr. Wiley is an arrogant know it all with terrible bedside manner. She made what should have been the best day of my life the worst. I went in for a routine weekly (38 weeks 4 days) was told there was protein in my urine and since I was also having headaches/dizzy spells it was urgent I be induced. After being admitted and hooked to an IV for 8 hours (dr Wiley was too busy to return the nurses phone calls for what the next step was) she comes in and says she wants to send me home due to the fact that her on call shift is over and she quote “doesn’t want me to be someone else’s problem” and that if I chose to stay “she might as well just take me straight to the OR for a c-section.” Being a first time mom and not knowing what to expect I was having a complete anxiety attack worried about the health of my baby since she said it was urgent I be induced and now she wants to me to go? I was so lost. The nurses urged me to go against her word and stay so my baby could me monitored properly.… After threatening me with a c-section yet again she left for the day and was no where to be found. Her parent (who so so amazing by the way- Dr. Bradford) swooped in and saved the day. After pushing for 45 minutes I delivered VAGINALLY a beautiful baby girl. You can’t make this stuff you. I will tell everyone I know what a horrible doctor she is. Even the LD nurses side handed told me how terrible she was. Wish I would have know before.

Terrible experience with ase Wiley, as well as, Baylor. Bullied the patient with scare tactics and wasn’t more concerned about her covering partner being able to be off for the holiday vs the health of mom and baby. I would never recommend anyone seeing her and her passive aggressive ways.

Worst doctor ever. Beware.

Awesome doctor!! Just a long time in the waiting room...bring a book!

Nurses forget to call in prescriptions. Lack of communication in the office. They don't trust that I know my own body and I had to fight with them to prove my condition, before finally receiving a proper diagnosis. Don't get me wrong, Dr. Wiley is very nice, but having had to go through the stress of having a life threatening condition and no one believing me was traumatizing. I switched OBs after my last pregnancy because of my issues with Dr. Wiley.
