Dr. Ruxandra Carp, MD

After my first few meetings with Dr. Carp, I knew that she would be someone who would push me to become the person I always wanted to be but was not sure how. She helped me to find the courage to overcome habits in my personal life that were hindrances for my growth. Additionally, our sessions cultivated my ability to build boundaries with individuals who were no longer serving me. I am thankful for my time as Dr. Carp’s patient because I am so proud of the person I am today and I could not have gotten this far without her help.

I went to see Dr. Carp for help with my anxiety, depression, and life/work stress. Dr. Carp is compassionate and understanding. She listens! She took the time to listen to me and understand my concerns. She also helped me to develop coping mechanisms to deal with my anxiety and depression. I've been seeing Dr. Carp for a over a year and a half, and I've made a lot of progress. I'm feeling more confident and in control of my life. I would definitely recommend Dr. Carp to others who are struggling with anxiety, depression, or life stresses.

Dr. Carp is an outstanding psychiatrist. My son and I have both benefited greatly from her expertise and thoughtful feedback and advice. I have had many doctors over the past 25 years, and Dr. Carp is the only one who has really taken the time to get to know me. She doesn’t just prescribe something in 15 minutes like some of my other providers. She learns about you, your concerns, needs and provides talk therapy which all lead to a clearer picture of the patient. Most of my other psychiatrists have prescribed antidepressants in just one quick visit without really knowing anything deep about me. She also was the first one to recognize my problems with attention and was able to prescribe me a medication that helped me become much more productive at my job. My son has benefited from her therapy as well and it has been incredibly life-changing for him. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a psychiatrist who really takes the time to get to know you. It makes such a difference!

Dr. Carp is rare in that she deeply respects her patients as collaborators in their care. She has taken me seriously as I try to articulate and advocate for my needs, my evaluation of my issues, and my feelings about what a solution might be and this has had a greatly empowering impact on my life. As a student, it was her care that brought me from barely passing high school to graduating college at the top of my class, something I never thought was possible. She has also been my provider through the unimaginable grief in the aftermath of my mother's death. Dr. Carp is I think the only doctor I've ever had who has put me on any medication which I have been able to both tolerate and commit to. She is not the type to just throw medications and diagnoses around whimsically in a guessing game like some psychiatrists can be - she listens and really targets her science to meet a patient's needs. I say this as someone who has really struggled for years and with many providers to find the… right balance, and this balance was found by Dr. Carp very early on. I can't recommend her highly enough. She is the right psychiatrist for people who want not only to heal but to transform their lives. The results are material and speak for themselves!

I started seeing Dr. Carp many years ago and she had helped me greatly. She is easy to talk to and was very understanding and supportive.

Incredibly unprofessional- she was always late and then on our second or third appointment she just never showed up. I literally never heard from her again, I sent her about four emails and then finally just sent her one asking to cancel all of our future appointments. I had run out of my prescription the day of this appt, thank goodness I was able to get an emergency refill until I found another doc. Told me I was taking my medication early in the day which is why I’d get incredibly unwell at night and that I didn’t need to up my dosage, that I just needed to deal with the depression and tell myself it’s all in my head until I could wake up and take the meds again the next morning. The half life of my medication is 21 hours and that advice was absurd. My new doc has since increased my dosage and I’m doing very well. Do yourself a favor and find yourself someone a little more legitimate!

Should not be practicing. Just a mean person.

Worst experience I have ever had with a provider. Didn't care about confidentiality. Interrupts constantly. Unable to accept feedback. Suggested that my child needed more medication when my child asked her to please let her speak without interruption. Aggressive in response to feedback.Sent me a threatening email. I can't believe that she hasn't been investigated yet because there are numerous accounts just like mine.

Incredibly un-professional. She was late to my video appointment and I had to email her to join. This appointment was a my first appointment with her and as I hadn't been to a Physiatrist in over 15 years I did not know how to approach it. She was very standoff-ish and did not see like she wanted to talk. After only 10 minutes, she said she was unable to help and when I was asking her if I was going to be charged, she hung up the video call. EXTREMELY un-professional.
