Dr. Ryan J. Becker, MD

Dr. Becker is genuinely kind and pleasant for routine visits (ear infections, strep, well child check, etc). However, when symptoms became complex (which later discovered genetic connective tissue disorder), he repeatedly dismissed concerns and pushed antipsychotics instead of investigating further or pushing for referrals. He almost tore my family apart. Separately, while in active preterm labor with twins at 26 weeks, he diagnosed my severe cramping and bleeding as “most likely a UTI” without checking for dilation and sent me home from the ER. I returned within 2 hours dilated to 4 cm with contractions 3–4 minutes apart and required emergency transfer by helicopter to Sioux Falls. My twins were then born just before 27 weeks gestation at Sioux Falls and required a lengthy and emotional NICU stay. He is not arrogant—he seems to believe he’s helping. That makes him especially dangerous for patients with anything beyond basic illnesses. I will never allow him to treat me or my… children again.
