Was in a car accident over two and a half years ago complained to the doctor telling him that something wasn't right for months and months he kept telling me it's okay takes time to heal like I said it's been over two and a half years I have two more MRIs coming up in the next week all I got to say is when doctors hear your patient telling you there's something wrong please listen to them because there is something wrong and I have serious problems with my dominant arm I had two surgeries in one performed and now I don't know what the future brings I have lost muscle in my entire arm it looks horrible and my bicep muscle not even there in May possibly be disconnected again I can't do daily routines and all because the doctor would not listen he talks a good game but he doesn't listen very well I probably wouldn't refer him to anybody that I know my husband had some surgeries on his knees from him and the one is no good so he can talk about his hunting in his vacations all day long I… don't care it didn't help me heal correctly so I would not suggest him

I highly recommend Dr. Dopirak and his physician assistant, Mike. I severely injured and damaged my right shoulder in an accident. My first surgeon screwed it up, leaving me with more pain and problems. I was referred by my PT to Dopirak, who did an absolutely wonderful job repairing my shoulder. Despite a large irreparable area of crushed bone, I am pain free and have full use of my arm!! After compensating for my damaged shoulder nearly 3 years, I wore out my left shoulder tearing the rotator cuff. It was another extensive repair, but again Dr. Dopirak did a fantastic job. It's only 8 weeks since surgery and I have nearly full range of motion and very little pain. As a result of my positive experience, I referred several friends to Dr. Dopirak. They too are very happy with his professionalism, skills, knowledge, and courteous and helpful staff. Shoulder surgery and recovery isn't easy, but you can be confident that Dr. Dopirak will do his very best to help.

Two years ago I took a bad spill off my horse severely injuring my shoulder. I had two fractures, part of the ball was crushed, the impact cause the collar bone to grind on another bone, I tore my rotator cuff, bicep tendon and cartilage, and as a result of the injuries I developed arthritis and a bone spur.The first doctor I saw was incompetent. Despite the numerous injuries showing on the MRI, he only repaired the torn cartilage and took out a piece that was floating around in my shoulder. He repeatedly told me that he saw no other tears, problems or arthritis. Yet I continued to have as much pain as I did prior to surgery. So he had me see his co-worker who did little to help me. He injected me with cortisone and sent me to physical therapy.The physical therapist said something was seriously wrong with my shoulder. I was not about to go back to the other doctors, so she referred me to Dr. Dopirak.During my first appointment, Dr. Dopirak immediately showed me all the problems… from an MRI. It was going to require another surgery. I was very apprehension after my first surgery, but Dr. Dopirak was very reassuring. He told me he would do his very best, that he would give me 110% and would treat me like family. True to his word, when getting prepped for surgery, he greeted me and said not to worry, that he was going to take good care of me. Between Dr. Dopirak and his assistant, they went beyond my expectations. His assistant even called after my surgery to see how I was doing. I saw before and after pictures of my shoulder. It was a mess. However, the final outcome was amazing. He did a wonderful job repairing nearly all the damage. The only thing that could not be repaired was the area on the ball that had been crushed. Dr. Dopirak didn't feel it would give me any problems.It's only been two and a half weeks since my surgery, but I'm already noticing a big difference. After the first week the pain has been very manageable. And I am beginning to do some light exercises.I highly recommend Dr. Dopirak, his assistant and staff. They have been wonderful to me. Dr. Dopirak is a no nonsense, highly skilled doctor, and he treats his patients with respect and kindness. He also took time to answer all my questions.

I was referred to Dr. Dopirek by my chiropractor who was very clear in stressing that she would like me to see him as opposed to others in our area. He has an impeccable reputation. At every visit he has spent a good deal of time answering my questions. He is clearly enthused about restoring shoulders to a functional state. He studied with a doctor who had perfected at least one special technique and he himself has perfected a technique that eliminates the need for an armpit incision in certain procedures so that this pain and risk factor can be eliminated. He repaired four different problems in shoulder and all through 7 tiny holes that have healed nicely and quickly with only steri strips (no stitches). He has published articles and teaches other orthopedic surgeons. He seems to be driven in the area of perfecting every aspect of his specialty. That's exactly the kind of guy I want working on me. He has been very willing to discuss reasons for the diagnosis, details of the injury… and structures involved, treatment options, insurance issues, etc. Because my diabetes and a blood clotting disorder presented extra risk factors, he was cautious to bring specialists on board to be sure I was as safe as possible. He really covered all the bases. I feel I'm in the best care available. I asked specifically and was told that he has never lost a patient and has never had a patient get an infection after surgery. He is absolutely top-notch in every area. His Physician's Assistant is Mike DePew who is also impressively knowledgeable, attentive, eager to work toward a successful outcome, and willing to spend time answering questions. Though Mike has been very involved, I never felt that I was lacking attention from the doctor himself. They seem to be a very balanced and effective team. Over the years I've had my share of horrible doctors and some terrific doctor and many in between. These guys are truly an exceptional team - among the very best I've ever had. I am currently 2 weeks post surgery and have only good things to say about them. At my 7-day checkup they both sat with my husband and I and showed us pictures that were taken during the surgery, explained everything they did, marked up the pictures so we could remember what they were showing, and let us keep the pictures. I never thought I'd learn so much about shoulders! It was very comforting to know what was going on and why and what to expect next. A number of people have shared their shoulder surgery nightmare stories with me so I was braced for the worst but so far the only trouble I've had was a reaction to one of the meds my hematologist prescribed to take post-surgery for the blood clotting disorder. The shoulder itself is doing nicely with only regular Tylenol for discomfort and I think if not for the reaction I had to that one medication, I'd have been up and around very soon after the surgery. It is always hard to have any surgery but if I ever have to have this again, I would not want to settle for anyone else. I would select him if my husband, kids, or Mom had to have shoulder surgery. I recommend him very highly.
