I presented Dr. Holbrook with a difficult, last minute scheduling problem and he went out of his way to accommodate me into his very busy schedule. He was friendly thorough and my visists with him were never rushed

Dr Holbrook is a gifted surgeon. However, my girlfriend of three years had her appendix removed and it was found to be cancerous. Dr. Holbrook recommended the HIPEC surgery. Kirsti died in the hospital within 1 month of the surgery because of the 5-FU chemotherapy. There is a test available to determine if you will have this violent reaction to the chemo. We were not told of this test beforehand. Please, ask...ASK about the test if you are to receive 5FU. If your body cannot break down this poison, you WILL, YOU WILL YOU WILL DIE WITHIN a month!!

A little over a year ago I traveled from Alaska to Spokane for the HIPEC surgery with Dr. Holbrook. All arrangements had been smoothly made with the caring and efficient staff and meeting Dr. Holbrook and his assistant, Christina, was a pleasant experience. My surgery lasted over nine hours and has proved to be very successful. The hospital staff were great and follow-up by the doctor was very good. I was 73 years of age at the time and in very good general health (except for the cancer, of course,) and felt support and encouragement from the doctor and his staff. I would highly recommend this surgery and Dr. Holbrook to anyone with the diagnosis of pseudomyxoma peritonei.
