Dr. Ryan Christopher Hurd, MD

I saw my Emergency Room medical report. It said that Dr. Hurd treated me. I regret to say that I actually never met this doctor when I was in Kaiser's ER at Irvine, California. I believe Kaiser falsified their medical records so that they can milk more money from the government in terms of Medi-Cal expenses. I only met the nurses at ER. It seems sad that Kaiser is guilty of medical fraud. If Healthgrades wanted a copy of the medical report, I can give it to you by e-mail. I was fully conscious during the ordeal. I just find it odd when those doctors wrote pages of interview report. I believe the nurses interviewed me and the doctors just sign it off taking the nurses' word for it to save costs and time where they made the government pay for the doctors' services when it was the nurses who did all of the hard work. I was admitted into the ER and saw Dr. Hurd. He was patient and really kind-he listened to my complaints and asked me questions to figure out what I was sick with. He ran a few tests, and explained what they were, and then prescribed me medicine to help me when I was discharged later. I would recommend this ER to anyone who unfortunately needs it.

I came into the ER today in a lot of pain . I had been seen the day before at UCare by another pysician who unfortunately did not listen to me . Did some basic stuff an sent me home with a 2 1/2 week later ultra sound appointment for a new problem that was getting worse hour by hour. I woke up today and had to go in. Began to think it was my appendicts. Dr. Hurd actually listened to me when he came into the room. After my ultra sound he gave me his professional opinion and diagnoses and was very thorough and took the time to answer my questions and explain it to me. I still was in so much pain though and was concerned I really felt I needed a CT scan to rule out more critical things that could explain my pain. Most Doctors I have had to deal with over the years just seemed to take the quickest easiest answer, and I ended up with much more serious medical problems because of that. My trust issues are somewhat bad . He didn’t even make me feel bad and ordered the CT scan. After… reviewing and after adequately getting my pain under control to a tolerable level for the first time in days , all I can say is that his initial diagnoses was right. He did not make me feel bad and just processs fo explain it to me again! He took the time on a extremely busy day to make sure I was going to be ok. My boyfriend and I are definitely critical of ERs and Urgent Cares , and will only go when absolutely necessary . Well Dr. Hurds professionalism and his knowledge has really changed our view. He was awesome and kind and made a very not so good day ok. Highly recommend him! Hope you are lucky enough to get him if you every have to go into the ER!! I went into urgent care on a Sunday for an excruciating tooth ache causes by a root canal. I did not have access to an actual dentist until the Monday but was in so much pain that my body was going into shock. As soon as he walked in he was incredibly rude, reminding me that he was not a dentist. I explained that I just needed something for the pain until I could have access to a dentist the following day. He walked out to prescribe me some pain medication and began gossiping with the staff about how "he was not a dentist" and that "he didn't go to dental school" (this was all happening while I was still inside the room in excruciating pain). As soon as he walked in, I confronted him about what he had just shared with the staff and asked him what would happen to all those people who, like me, did not have access to "emergency dentists" and that at the very least he should show compassion and professionalism toward his patients.

Dr. Hurd is a terrible doctor. I would give him a zero if I could. I had a focal seizure in the emergency room, the nurse called him, and he never came to see me. I came in with severe muscle weakness and fatigue and he just told me to eat more (even though my blood sugar, bp, electrolytes, and potassium were all normal). Doctors like him make me hate kaiser. I will probably switch providers now.
