Dr. Ryan Charles Mc Cormick, MD

My father went in with classic stroke symptoms and Dr. McCormick referred him to an orthopedic doctor to check his knees (he went from walking to left sided paralysis over night- classic stroke symptom). The second my dad walked in to the orthopedic they made him go to the hospital. How does a trained physician not recognize signs of stroke when my father walked in his office with abnormal speech, paralysis on one side of the body, extremely elevated blood sugar (in a diabetic), and extremely high blood pressure. As an occupational therapist, who works every day in healthcare, I know that any health care professional would have recognized these symptoms as signs of a stroke and should have sent my father to the hospital immediately.

I started with Dr. McCormick at about the same time he joined Virtua Partners (the practice has had several names. I believe this one is current). He engages you in conversation and will work with you and your circumstances but he does have a way of getting his point across. He has always looked to help guide me to resolve my conditions. I believe he truly cares about me getting better.

Dr. McCormick really reviews and keeps meticulous records. He makes sure to keep advising you based on his knowledge and research but is not pushy at all. He is a great family physician.
