Dr. Ryan Meehan, MD

Dr. Meehan is a board-certified vascular surgeon with the UP Health System - Marquette Heart & Vascular Center. He specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of vascular disease, from varicose veins to life-threatening aneurysms. Originally from Detroit, MI, he completed undergraduate studies at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, before earning his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Meehan then went on to complete his General Surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX, followed by his Vascular Surgery fellowship at the University of North Carolina (UNC) in Chapel Hill, NC.Prior to joining UP Health System, Dr. Meehan worked as a vascular surgeon at REX Vascular Specialists in Raleigh, NC, where he also helped train UNC Vascular Surgery Fellows.Outside of work, Dr. Meehan enjoys spending time with family, weightlifting and taking advantage of all the outdoor activities the Upper Peninsula …has to offer.Specializations- Peripheral arterial disease- Carotid stenosis- Abdominal and thoracic aneurysms- Aortic dissection- Dialysis access- Vascular trauma- Venous disease- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)- Pulmonary embolism
