Dr. Ryan James Nelson, DO

Dr. nelson puts me at ease with his casual approach. It's like chatting with a close friend. He asks important questions and he has my best interest in mind when he plans for my health goals. I was having health trouble when I first visited him and it's a distant memory now.

Dr Nelson has helped me deal with my issues. He is caring, friendly and treats me with respect . When I contact him he contacts me very quickly and helps me resolve my issues. I highly recommend Dr Nelson!

Dr. Nelson is one of the most caring people i have ever met. He's been taking care of me for 27 months and everytime I had a question or concern he was able to quelch my concerns. Dr. Nelson is the most caring, knowledgeable, sincere, supportive thorough Dr. I have ever dealt with. Just today he went through all of my test results and saw something that set off red flags. He noticed that my kidney numbers were not right. He immediately went into action and began a chain of events that have secured an ultrasound tomorrow and an appointment with Dr Clark next week. You just don’t see or experience that anymore. Dr. Clark’s also expedited a quick blood and urine test for next week as well. Dr. Clark’s office obviously holds Dr. Nelson in high esteem. If anyone I know ever has to go through the issues that I experienced, I would recommend Dr. Nelson hands down. Dr. Nelson and staff , I appreciate you beyond words. Thank you.

I would recommend Dr. Nelson to anyone who wants a knowledgeable, and caring Doctor. When i was waiting for surgery, Dr. Nelson, personally came to let my husband and i know the reason for the delay, that meant a lot to us. I have been with Dr Nelson for over a year. He has taken me from identifying prostate cancer through the assessment and decision making process. This took approximately 8 months. He also recommended an oncologist, who was great, in order to make sure that all options were understood. He performed my Prostate removal surgery. This process went so well, with no post surgery complications. I am now cancer free. I greatly appreciate Dr Nelson’s knowledge, surgical expertise and his staff. I would recommend Dr Nelson to anyone that has a prostate issue. As someone already said: he is the real deal.

Dr Nelson was in the exam room with me < 6 minutes (timed) to examine a condition I was experiencing. Consultation for this condition was the sole purpose for the visit. After an interview and discussion, Dr Nelson suggested 2 follow up tests. The Dr then left to find the results of a test completed prior to the consultation. He never returned. A staff member returned after a few minutes and told me I was done. I was directed to check out where details would be provided. I asked the staff member about the test result the Dr was looking for. I was told it was normal and the staff would call in a prescription. This was the first mention of a prescription. I was told the Dr based it on the test result. I inquired if the test result was normal, why would I need a prescription. The staff member could not provide that answer. I also questioned a staff member about the timing for a follow up test. Again, the staff member could not provide an answer. I was… disappointed I could not get my questions answered directly by Dr Nelson. It seems reasonable that 2-to-3 more minutes of Dr Nelson’s time to review: -test results -next steps in medications and testing -outstanding questions from the pt would have made this a more satisfactory visit.
