Dr. Ryan Michael Norton, DO

The most dismissive doctor I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with. Never in my time have I experienced such a lack of competence nor empathy in healthcare. Save yourself the waste of time and find a qualified doctor who has the ability to at the very least listen with compassion.

Robotic in manner. Offered no real help. Super basic, I felt like I was dealing with a politician who had no interest in treating my health. What a shame that physicians are more interested in wasting time and giving people the run around versus prolonging a patient's life and actually caring.

Dr. Norton is a fantastic doctor. When I first came to him with an unknown illness, he worked around the clock to figure out what was going on with me - so much so that he would call me after hours with daily updates on his findings. His resilience, hard work and expert knowledge saved my life and got me the treatment I desperately needed. Not only this, Dr. Norton has successfully diagnosed conditions I had been experiencing that my prior primary care physicians got completely wrong. To top it off, he's incredibly cordial, understanding and takes time to listen and address your concerns thoroughly. Can not recommend him enough. Thanks Dr. Norton!

Such a terrible experience at OHSU with Dr. Ryan Norton. He is quite uncompassionate as well as condescending and his medical advice bordered on malpractice in my case. He dismissed my concerns about a life threatening bleeding ulcer and recommended NSAIDs against every other practitioner's previous advice. He never inquired as to how I was doing following being rear ended by a semi and only told me to live with the extreme pain essentially as he prescribed six (nope not a typo) Vicodin but he was not up front enough to tell me this was all he was prescribing he left the pharmacist with the job of explaining his interesting decision and told me she had never seen anything like it following an accident of my magnitude. Needless to say it is a situation that will require follow up on my part to assure no one else has to be treated in such an inhumane fashion as I was by Dr Ryan Norton. An interesting side note is I have reached out on four separate occasions to discuss my situation with… the head of OHSU Beaverton and have not once received return call. It would appear this is this standard of care at this clinic.
