Dr. Ryan Baird Pickens, MD

I AM 13 MONTHS IN TO DATE STILL IN PAIN MANAGEMENT TRYING TO TREAT THE EXTREME PAIN CAUSED BY NERVE DAMAGE FROM A SUPPOSEDLY SIMPLE PROSTATE SURGERY THAT I WAS TOLD BY THIS DR. RECOVERY WOULD ONLY TAKE 2 WEEKS TO RECOVER FROM WITH NO CHANCE OF INCONTENANC. WHAT A NIGHTMARE THIS HAS BEEN AND STILL CONTINUES TO BE AS NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS WERE TRUE. THEN ANOTHER SURGERY BY DR. PICKENS TO CORRECT THE FIRST SURGERY, AND THINGS WENT DOWNHILL EVEN FASTER. I WOULDNT WISH THIS EXPERIENCE ON MY WORST ENEMY. A YEAR INTO THIS NIGHTMARE, THIS AMATEUR SIMPLY WASHED HIS HANDS OF ME AND INSTRUCTED ME TO GO TO A GENERAL PHYSICION AND SEE IF HE COULD HELP. CONCLUSION OF THIS REVIEW: IF YOU DONT GUARD YOURSELF FROM THESE LOW SKILLDED SURGEONS, THE CONSEQUENCES CAN LITTERALLY RUIN YOUR LIFE!

Bad urologist. Does not help the patient. Gets unprofessional when reported.

Dr. Pickens is a excellent physician. Competent, knowledgeable and explains everything in detail.

I come from Newport Tennova Hospital to UT hospital by Ambulance I was very sick and Dr.Ryan Pickens took care of me I had a kidney stone he's a very kind doctor and a excellent doctor and I appreciate all he done for me Sincerly Freda Ray

I was going through chemotherapy and had to have a lithotripsy. Dr. Pickens was very knowledgeable, explained everything in great detail. Had excellent bedside manner, respectful and kind. I trust him completely with my kidney issues.

I have chronic stones that form frequently in great numbers and size. Pickens has performed three successful surgical procedures and we're working on identifying the cause. He speaks quickly with enthusiasm and needs to be reminded to slow down a bit and listen. This is not unusual for a surgeon. Remember, you are selecting a technically skilled artist, not a friend. While he could improve bedside behavior, his technical skills and knowledge are advanced and he is a gifted surgeon and teaching physician who is well-respected by hospital staff.

Over the years of my life I've seen probably hundreds of doctors for various issues, and as a whole, I find them arrogant and uncaring. Not so with Dr. Pickens, who takes the time to hear me out, consider my needs and wishes, and then move forward while keeping me informed. Definitely a keeper!

Dirty hands ... You will be in danger if you go to this doctor of death.
