Dr. Shaw has made a home in Pennsylvania since he moved to the state in 2000 to attend Duquesne University where he completed a B.S. in Healthcare Management Systems. He received his degree in dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. In 2008 Dr. Shaw returned to Pittsburgh to complete specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, a hospital consistently ranked in the top 10 of all U.S. Children’s Hospitals. He is originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada but is excited to live and practice here in Pittsburgh.
Dr. Shaw enjoys all aspects of pediatric dentistry while getting to know each patient and seeing them grow from infants to adults. He has extensive training in treating patients with complex medical histories and special needs. Dr. Shaw is proficient in treating patients under sedation or general anesthesia for those with extensive treatment needs or who cannot tolerate …treatment in a traditional clinical environment. He is currently pursuing diplomat status with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He maintains an active membership with the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Shaw maintains affiliation with the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as an active member of the medical staff. Outside of dentistry he is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time with family and friends. He currently resides in Mt. Lebanon with his wife Rachael.
