Dr. Ryan Gregory Townsend, DO

This man misrepresented what he did from the beginning. He would tell you one thing, and then say he did not say this. He did not believe one word I said, nor did he check out anything I said. Told me "I only chose to hear what I wanted." "That I was full of crap". Also he destroyed my credibility I had with my family. I could have taken away all my meds. As that is all he did, when you attempted to talk to him about this he stated " I had to go to a specialist,"to get a med he stopped restarted. From the start he used innuendos that " if I went against what he stated like going or contacting my regular Doc. 's he would kick me out of his clinic" This was told to me two different times. He left me having serious health problems not listening to anything I told him. I was told I didn't tell the truth about what one of his clinic he referred me to said, when I asked said clinic to repeat to me three times what service they would provide. He then referred me out to clinics that my… insurance would not cover one they never heard of & they were duplicates of services I received at the current time of which he chose to ignore and did not involve in any medication he stopped cold turkey. In my opinion when a person has a chronic incurable auto immune diesease, this man has no reason to take you from independent to a shaking, sick person unable to care for them selves. He did not believe me when I could not get my car started. He stopped a medication that helped control the bleeding from my stomach, of which the gastric Doctor restarted immediately. Even his written down plan of which I have, he said he didn't say this. I was treated like a child, very ignorant and basically a liar. He also over charged me for his appointment's. I was bawled out by his staff. This man has most everyone thinking he truly cares and truly wants to help his clients. I have noticed every elderly female that saw him, with no one with them or with another female he singled out as vulnerable and quickly used his position to intimidate this person and cause physical and emotional harm. I would never have gone to him or a Doctor of this kind if I had known they simply stopped medication a person had been on for over 20 years, expecting said person to have no rebound affects or withdrawals. If a person has a diesease that in the long run will cause their death, there is absolutely no reason to take away medication that helps them, nor does he have the right when you fire him and you signed a new HIPPA form to contact your family member who is in an entirely different state, & does not know the truth. When a Doctor puts you down with his words, says you are non-compliant when you tell him you can not take a medication, instead of finding this out,you are supposed to suffer the reaction go to the ER to prove said reaction, the client is non-compliant not knowledgeable about said affects of medication choosing not to use it after speaking indepth to him about said medication. This man has no right to work with chronically ill elderly folks. I saw the red flags from day one, I tried to work with him but he chose not to work with me. I fired him in the 3rd visit. He basically stole an entire month of my life, loosing my service dog durring same period still suffering physical affects from the choices he made. I wish I would have fired them on the get go.

I saw Dr. Townsend perhaps three times over several years and I thought he was caring and courteous and I was sad to hear that he was no longer with the practice. I never felt rushed and or demeaned when I asked questions. I wish him well.

I guess I am "elderly" at 70. I liked Dr. Townsend. He was thorough and treated me with respect. I got a letter that said he is no longer with Carson Tahoe Group. I again have to change doctors. I wish him luck wherever he goes but wish I could keep him as my doctor.

Dr. Townsend consistently provides excellent care. He takes the time to explore my questions and come up with a plan of attack that is best for me. His nurse follows up frequently to ask about medication side effects and other concerns.

He is my elderly mom's doctor; I accompany my mom at her appointments. I found the doctor to be just okay, his sternness seems to work for my elderly mom however his approach does not display common sense or maturity. My experience with his front office staff was HORRIBLE; they are Very Unprofessional, Rude and Extremely Disrespectful. I personally would not go to this doctor; his front office staff alone would keep me from going there.

Excellent, very caring, extremely intellegent

Dr Townsend is the most uncaring & rude dr I have ever been to. At my last visit i told him i had a problem with his nurse. When he asked me about it I started to explain what it was and he immediately cut me off, raised his voice and said " i don't care! I'm not her boss I'm just an employee and if you have a problem take up with management." I will be changing drs immediately and wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

This dr. Should never treat senior citizens! He doesn’t listen and talks over you Extremely loudly. Told me to get out of his office and never come back. As he was rushing out of his office paused momentarily to say “ You are fatigued because you’re so old!!

Dr. Townsend knows just what questions to ask to determine the correct resolutions. He is very, very intelligent and gets to the point quickly on all issues. I feel so fortunate to have found him. His staff is pleasant and efficient.

This office is the worst I. Have ever experienced. No support, uncaring staff, unable to get to dr.,. Office management non exsistant. You feel like you are just another animal going through squeeze shoot....In and out. Little explanation about prescription, desease consequences, no cooperation with drug store. Do NOT GO HERE. THE OFFICE IS USUALLY CLOSED ANYWAY, WITH VOICE MESSAGE TELLING YOU. TO CALL LATER.
