Dr. Ryan C. Young, MD

Going to Dr. Young was the biggest regret of my life. I now have lifetime changes in my vision and eye pain after my procedure. He did a 360 peripheral laser of my retina without informing me. I was surprised and didn't find out until 2 months after the procedure and which point he told me he didn't hit any nerves and that I would not have any visual issues. As a result of the surgery and laser I've had loss of peripheral vision, nerve damage and excruciating pain and constant haze with flashes of light in the periphery of my eye. This was called Neuropathic Corneal Pain. I've also had Photopsia (flashing bubbles of light in the peripheral vision) as well as Palinopsia(Lingering afterimages) and Visual snow(haze and static in the vision) which all started after my surgery. On top of that he injected a steroid in my eye which he said would clear up in 2 weeks. I am still seeing the debris from the steroid after 2 yers. I'm a physician myself and it was unethical of him to… not inform me that he would perform a 360 peripheral retinal laser procedure and not tell me of the risks. Prior to my surgery he even discouraged me from doing a different laser procedure to take care of my condition because he said it could hit my retina. His practice does procedures and tests on patients without informing them of the purpose. It is like a factory in his office. I’m not going to even describe the times he was flat out was dishonest to me. Overall a disastrous experience. I am now disabled and now unable to work.

Dr. Ryan Young was excellent. He explained thoroughly what was going on and answered all my many questions with no condescension or impatience. I was impressed and reassured.
