Was referred to Dr. Gwinn for a pain pump procedure by my Dr. Showed up to what we thought was a pre-op appointment only to be told “oh we don’t provide pump implant for your condition.” This despite rhe assuranxe and referral by our pain Dr. So what we thought was a pre-op appointment to have vitals checked and schedule surgery turned out to be a humiliating and incredibly disappointing. This was to be a possible method to help control chronic pain that I’ve dealt with since 2012. Not professional about it whatsoever

You spend more time with his PA, and very little time with the doctor

Doctor Gwinn in my book is the best neurosurgeon out there. He is exremley passionate about his work and will go to unmeasureable lengths to make sure the job is done correctly. My dad is a great doctor

Knows exactly what he is doing and goes the extra mile to get everything correct. I would refer him to any friend of mine. Great bedside manner and answers all your questions and then some. He gets the job done and done correctly. I would go to him again if the need came up. He is excellent/ compassionate and so is his PA.

How to I rate this doctor in just a few words. I was referred to Dr Gwinn for his opinion on removing a medical implant to allow further diagnostic testing. He didn't just suggest removing the implant right away, he suggested a different test which may provide enough results to determine if removing the implant would be critical for further diagnosis. The results confirmed removing the implant would be beneficial but he never told me what to do. With my medical history it was clear that without removing that implant the end result could be far greater. Once he removed the implant, the MRI was performed. The MRI resulted in finding a rare medical condition that I had previous surgery for, was once again a problem. I had extensive surgery within 6 weeks. He is detailed, extremely smart, caring and he lets you know that you are not alone even after the surgery. I know I could go to him for help in pointing me in the right direction on medical related issues. Most importantly the leading… expert in the Seattle region on my medical condition refused to see me because the implant. Dr Gwinn did not turn me away and because of that, I am forever grateful.
