South Orange County Cardiology Dr. Ryland Melford, M.D. is extremely brilliant and the BEST cardiologist!  Dr. Melford is Chief of Cardiology of Saddleback Memorial Hospital. His areas of expertise are Heart failure,  Transplant, Cardio thoracic, Vascular, etc.  Dr Melford extended and saved my life by giving me the most thorough and complete heart diagnosis ever in my life!  He informed me of my true heart condition  where other heart drs had missed his expert diagnosis. He is very thorough in his patient assessment, kind, with a sincere bedside manner. Dr Melford is a valuable asset with an exemplary dedication to his field, his patients, Saddleback Hospital, South County Cardiology Group and saving lives. I am thankful  to have finally found the best cardiologist! I am in my best heart condition ever in my life under the skilled care of Dr Melford, who is brillant in his… field, is  an outstanding consummate professional, dedicated, with an exemplary work ethic! Dr Melford is an excellent Cardiologist who spends time with his patients and clearly explains a diagnosis and treatment. I found him very easy to talk with and an excellent listener.

I have had to replace this cardiologist reluctantly due to repeated cancellations (over 3 in the last six months) with NO notice. The last time I called to confirm my appointment, I was told again Dr. Melford had cancelled. What shocked me however, was the admission of his staff that he had cancelled not only myself, but the entire weeks worth of patients with NO coverage for the others. We are all heart patients. This is a serious abandonment of patient care if true. If not true, This office staff has serious problems. My other doctors are shaking their heads at his unprofessional behavior and have encouraged me to go elsewhere, which I have.
