Dr. Sabeen Najam, MD

Dr. Sabeen Najam received her Doctor of Medicine from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her internship at the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. Dr. Najam also completed her residency at University of Texas Medical Branch, where she was the Chief Resident of the Department of Internal Medicine. She completed her fellowship at the Division of Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Dr. Najam is board-certified in both Rheumatology and Internal Medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas. Prior to opening the Houston Rheumatology Center, Dr. Najam held teaching responsibilities at University of Texas Medical, including Assistant Professor for the Department of Internal Medicine and Preceptor for the Resident’s Clinic of the Department of Internal Medicine Branch. She also held teaching responsibilities at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, …TX, where she was Attending for Inpatient Medicine Service.

Dr. Najam has received numerous awards and honors throughout her career, including superior performance in all six monthly evaluations during her internal medicine residency and Scholar in Autoimmunity. She has held responsibilities on various committees, including the Internal Medicine Residency Recruitment Committee, Electronic Medical Record Committee, and Chief Resident Advisory Committee. Dr. Najam is currently a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Rheumatology, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America, and Patient Welfare Association.

Dr. Najam is a published author, having contributed her findings to the field of rheumatology. Her philanthropic work includes Assistant Organizer of Patient Welfare Association and Clinical Volunteer for FALAH AKU in Karachi, Pakistan, and Volunteer Clinical Physician for the Federal Emergency Management Agency for Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts.
