Dr. Sabine Claudia Iben, MD

Sabine C. Iben, MD, is Assistant Professor in Cleveland Clinic Childrens Hospital Department of Neonatology and the Neonatal Director of the Fetal Care Center. Dr. Iben earned her medical degree from Fakultt fur Klinische Medizin der Universitt Heidelberg, Germany. Her post-graduate training includes a pediatric residency at University Hospital of Missouri, Columbia and a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed additional training in neonatal-perinatal medicine and pediatric critical care at University Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany. Dr. Iben is board certified in both general pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. She is an instructor for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program and also holds certifications in pediatric advanced life support and advanced cardiovascular life support from the American Heart Association. Dr. Iben is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy …of Pediatrics and the Midwestern Society of Pediatric Research. Dr. Iben has published multiple research articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as having contributed abstracts at a number of professional association meetings on ventilator induced lung injury. She has been invited to lecture and present at local, national and global institutions on topics such as protein metabolism in premature infants, gastro intestinal obstructions, and steroids in neonatology, among others. Her specialty interests include complex congenital malformations, chronic lung disease of prematurity, and neonatal nutrition.
