I cannot thank Dr. Shah enough for saving my life. I was scheduled for Kidney transplant. I was referred to Dr. Shah for evaluation. She was able to diagnose a very small carcinoma in the lung which did not even show up in the lung scan. The Carcinoma was removed and I am now ready for kidney transplant. Had I got my kidney transplant as scheduled earlier the anti rejection drugs would have made my cancer to spread like wild fire and I would been dead by now. I owe my life to her.

I had an initial consultation with Dr. Shah for possible Lung Transplant Surgery. The purpose of this consultation was twofold: 1) to determine if I was a suitable candidate for transplantation and 2) to educate me and my family about all aspects of lung transplantation. I was examined by her. She took a detailed medical history and reviewed my medical records as well as recent chest x-ray films and other relevant test results, such as CT scans. She informed me and my family about the evaluation process, organ allocation, the potential risks and benefits of lung transplantation, the surgery itself, the post-operative recovery period and the inevitable lifestyle changes, and the mandatory medications that I'll be taking for the rest of my life. I had the opportunity to discuss all my concerns with her. She performed all the tasks with absolute professionalism and I was extremely comfortable with the process and the outcome. It was almost impossible to get on her calendar but it… was well worth the wait.
