Dr. Saeed Hamid, MD

I've been treated by Dr. Hamid when I was a teenager and later in my 30s to the present. He was my psychiatrist at the Ridge around 1998 and I followed him to his private practice upon discharge. He treated me several years following my hospitalization at what was then called Charter Ridge. I went back to him for care in 2015 and have been there ever since. He treats me for PTSD, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse disorder. He is both firm and kind. I feel I have individualized care and am treated with respect and fairness. He will not let you work him though and allow you to treat yourself; and that's what an addict will try to do. yeah I said it. He is very good at keeping a professional distance while still being compassionate and giving you the treatment he thinks you should have; not the treatment you think you should have. If you're not ready for accountability, you're not willing to accept that the way you were doing things got you in a mess, or you're not ready to turn… your care over to an expert, then you're going to have a hard time ????? I do believe the office should answer the phone during office hours though and not make patients leave messages and then get a return call. I think the wait time can be long at times, but bring a book and get cozy because the care is worth it. I also believe he has an excellent therapist in office for patients and have no complaints with therapy requirements because it doesnt feel like a waste of time; you'll actually get something from it.

I took forever to get a appointment. I kept leaving messages that I needed to get in as soon as possible. I spoke with the receptionist and told her what was going on and she said that she needed to speak with the doctor. I had to call back and it was like I had to start all over. I had a appointment at 9. I got there before 9. It was 10:15 and still I was never seen. I understand running a little late but over a hour was ridiculous. I got so frustrated that I got up and left. United Behavioral needs to have better customer service and they seemed very unorganized. You shouldn’t have to wait that long when your appointment was at 9. I will be looking for some other place to go. Very very poor service and unprofessional.

The office will take this off before anyone sees it i am sure! I just now called to ask for an appointment at this office and the receptionist ask me why i wanted to see this doctor and what medication i was on? I told her i had been diagnosed with anxiety and i was taking zanax. She immediately took an attitude with me and would not stop preaching about how that office did not write zanax to patients! She was talking so fast and loud i couldn't even tell her what i wanted to talk to the doctor about! I was calling to find out if the doctor could help me to stop taking zanax...She was still preaching as i hung up the phone! I am not making this up! Not everyone is looking for a pill fix! I am 65 years old and had a terrible car accident a few years back or i wouldn't be taking anxiety medication! I am shocked right now!
