Dr. Sagir Ahmed, MD

Dr. Ahmed was professional and friendly. After a frightening episode, I had on-site diagnostics conducted and was given very minimal feedback. He had also prescribed a heart rate monitor to wear for 48 hrs., along with detailed written instructions for keeping a diary. When I dropped it off after the test period, I was told the dr. would call me w/ the diagnostic results, but he never did. I called twice after two weeks of waiting and left a message w/ the receptionist each time. No return call. I called a third time and asked if ANYONE at the practice could tell me the results and was told by a female nurse that since I hadn't heard from the dr., this meant that the results were negative. Having to wait several weeks to hear this was nerve-wracking, and having to hear this from someone other than the dr. was less than satisfying and left me feeling unsure of my condition. The only thing the dr. had told me during my initial visit was that he didn't find anything wrong with my heart,… but that I should see a pulmonologist; no explanation as to why. Although the initial visit was efficient, the staff friendly, the nurse who performed initial tests excellent, and the dr. knowledgable and competent, I would not choose to use the services of this practice in the future, based solely on the lack of follow-up. I consider follow-up the key to service; why bother getting tests if the dr. never bothers to follow up to give you the results and explain what they mean?
