Dr. Saiqua Akbar Waien, MD

Dr. Waien is unstable and treats her patients horrible and her staff the same way. She needs to get mental health help or retire. Shes been reported to UPMC many times and nothing has been done.

Very professional. Responsive to concerns. Thorough.

I wish I could have a good experience, however... I just can't. I have been trying to get a medication filled that I have been taking for years. Not only can I not get anyone to return my calls, but I haven't had my medication now for almost a week. I have been suffering extreme withdrawal symptoms and apparently this office just doesn't care. After leaving several messages and getting hung up on by the receptionist, I still don't know if they are going to bother filling my prescription.

Dr. Waien has been my primary care physician for about 2 years. Being an older adult, I'm beginning to experience some new health concerns, in addition to several chronic problems I've dealt with for years. I always arrive at my appointments with a list of questions I've accumulated since my last visit and Dr. Waien has always spent more time with me than any other physician I've ever seen. She's never failed to answer a question, often suggesting real world solutions that have worked wonderfully, rather than just referring me to another specialist for more appointments, co-pays, etc., and she has always reviewed my chart before an appointment so she can follow up on previous issues, or provide new information she's researched since my last visit. I think she's a great doctor.

Horrible attitude and bad bed side manor

I am sure that she is well educated but she does not explain things well and is not prompt in placing orders. I was admitted around 1pm but did not have a diet order or labs ordered until she came in after office hours.
