Dr. Salim M Walji

Dr. Walji was heaven sent to our family! my mom needed a very high risk surgery and was told it couldnt be done here in Albuquerque. Thank god we found Dr. Walji. we were told by friends that he has done many of these High Risk operations. He took on the challenge and my mom is doing GREAT! Our experience from start to finish was amazing! his Nurse Delilah kept us highly informed from start to finish and if we ever had questions they were always there for our family! something that is hard to find anymore. I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Walji replaced my heart valve a few years ago. Had it not been for Dr. Wahlji's personality, i would not be alive today. He is incredibly insistent on making his patients live!! Very good surgeon!

We could not have been more pleased with a physician and his staff. My husband had an allergic reaction to the pre-op medications and they were right there when we called. He was out of town and called twice as the first call he was still on the plane, and then then called back and was 100% helpful and concerned about the whole situation. The operation went wonderful and the operative staff was attentive and kept me informed. His hospital care could not have been better. The most wonderful nurses were there and Dr. Walji was there every day, sometimes more. My husband was released from the hospital on Saturday and we were asked to call Sunday morning. Dr. Walji himself called us a half hour before the time to call him saying "it would be easier than going through the phone service." That is someone that cares greatly about what he does, the people he is working with, and the families. We would recommend him any and every day!!! Thanks for great care during a very difficult time!

Exceptional physician, surgeon, and person. Wonderful to work with. Right there when we needed him and his staff. We will never forget the great job he did.

I have been in hospitals over the years so I know when I am having great Doctors attention. This Doc was on time from the very start, and was attending to my wife like no other Doctor that I have ever seen. Never have I seen a more caring doctor or bedside manner, and know what he is doing... Felt like we were in the best care that we could ever have received. We were very fortunate to be under this mans caring and skilled hands. Now 4 weeks afterwards he is still there with us checking on how she is doing. Never seen any doctor do that in my life.. If your in need of skilled hands and all the other stuff, then please go with this man.

Great doctor!

Dr. Walji is the most compassionate and sweetest man. He did my surgery 6 years ago and I am so thankful he was sent to do my surgery. I call him every year on what I consider my second birthday because he saved my life. I just got of the phone with him and his words are so sincere. I lost my brother this year and Dr. Walji still remembers how concerned my brother was when I had my surgery and the words Dr. Walji just shared with me are so heart felt! Thank you Dr. Walji you are my ANGEL!!

He saved my life

Before surgery, Dr. Walji allowed me and my husband all the time we needed to ask questions about my upcoming open-heart surgery. An hour at both pre-surgery appointments--rather amazing for any doctor today. He not only allowed time but really focused on what we were asking and on giving his explanations. During this time, he also is gathering his own information about whether the patient understands the seriousness of the upcoming surgery and her/his commitment to following directions to properly prepare for it. On surgery day, Dr. Walji visited with me and my husband and friend early in the a.m., introducing the people who would be working with him in surgery. Again, he was focused on me, the patient. After the surgery and recovery room, I am told he sat with me back in my room before I was fully conscious. Then he came to talk to me and my husband every day, sometimes more than once, again allowing time for any questions we had. He also calls the nursing staff regularly to… ask about his patients. Dr. Walji is known as being tough in the sense that he expects his patients to follow his directions during pre-surgery and recovery. I believe this is the right thing, considering the level of effort (way above 100%) that he devotes to his patients.Also, Dr. Walji and his office manager/nurse, Delilah, are a wonderful team. Their office is not only well organized and communicates (with the patient) attentively, but uou feel taken care of just to walk into it.
