Dr. Salman Akhtar, MD

Dr. Salman Akhtar is the best cardiologist in LV! Dr. Akhtar is a very smart, knowledgeable and compassionate cardiologist! He explained in detail the results of my tests and discussed in a very comprehensive manner my treatment options. Unlike some doctors who would briefly explain things and would hurriedly get out of the room, he is very patient and answered all my questions. He exhibits compassion in the way he treated me. I cannot asked for a better cardiologist! If you need cardiology care, go see Dr. Akhtar. He won't disappoint you! Also, his staff is very friendly and actually returns your calls. Special shoutout to Shirley, one of his front desk person at Dr. Akhtar's N Tenaya Way office. Shirley is very efficient, very friendly and addresses your concerns.

It is very rare for me to write a review on my visit to a doctor's office. Not that I have something against physicians; rather it's the experience which never inspired me to do so. This is coming from someone who was diagnosed with the heart disease at age 31. My experience with Dr. Akhtar was something unique; a) he offered genuine concern towards my health; b) showed through his actions the willingness to understand the history and prior treatments; c) empowered me by sharing knowledge about my condition as well as the wisdom behind proper treatment; more so it was his persona and the style of communication which impacted me in really listening and agreeing to his advice. I have never (in last 7 years) been treated by a clinical physician in such a way; where I wasn't intimidated by their wisdom and opinions; rather was empowered to understand and neutrally accept their advice on treatments which would better my health. Everyone gets to study the same human anatomy while in medical… school; but what makes one a complete doctors is not just which school they went to or what specialty they specialize in! Rather, why did they chose this profession in the first place; their personal & professional life experiences; mentors they had and how the wisdom impacted their career growth and also how they live their life outside their professional circle. A complete personality! Creating a "Positive Memorable Experience" for each life a physician touches could only be gained through right intent, willingness to empower along with a strong commitment to hospitality & genuine care. That is what I got from Dr. Akhtar and his staff; very grateful!

Dr. Akhtar is a one of a kind doctor who knows what he's doing and is the best one I've ever had. He listens to his patients concerns and helps their loved ones as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Salman Akhtar and truly think there should me more kind and intelligent people like him in this world
