Dr. Salman Ayub Malik, MD

I was very disappointed with my experience on what was my first and last appointment with this Dr Salman Malik. After having a treatment plan created by my primary dentist (who I love by the way), I was told that for the oral extraction, I’d have to go to an oral surgeon. They gave me two names and I randomly chose the one named Dr Malik. When I called to schedule an appointment for the extraction, they pitched me on option of getting a replacement tooth. At first, I entertained the option but when I realized that it would take two appointments instead of one and the cost would be substantially more, I opted to just have the extraction done. The appointment times were very inconvenient but I went out of my way to accommodate this dentist’s schedule. The office was a little difficult to find so I was 5 minutes late. Being responsible and considerate, I called in advance to let the office know I would be about 5 minutes late and asked them to confirm the address I found on Google maps… since their text message did not have the address on it. I arrived and was given some paperwork which I filled out quickly. I was the only patient in the waiting room. I was made to wait for approximately 45 minutes before I was brought in. Once in the chair, the Dental Assistant says she’s having a difficult time reading the X-Ray that was sent to them by my regular dentist. So she decides to take 2 new x-rays and then calls for help saying the x-ray machine doesn’t seem to be working properly. The woman from the front desk comes in and together they take a 3rd try at which time all of a sudden it works. Finally the Dr comes in and begins asking me about my history and confirms my previous request regarding an extraction and the use of novocaine instead of gas. Just as I think we are about to get this done, he says he is going to schedule a new appointment. He tries to blame me and say that because I was 5 minutes late, he doesn’t have time to do; meanwhile he was 45 minutes late seeing me and not once was this mentioned before I was brought in. The whole experience seemed shady to me and this dentist clearly is not someone I would see again or recommend.

Dr Malik and his staff are great. I had a tooth removed and it was a very good experience. Dr Malik explained everything before the tooth was removed and is very caring and professional. His assistant went over everything for aftercare. I would recommend this MD for all your dental surgical needs.
