Dr. Salo R Schapiro, MD

It is with a heavy heart that my family and I have decided to leave Dr. Schapiro. We have been Dr. Shapiro's patients for a very long time and find him to be an excellent Doctor. However dealing with his staff is without a doubt most disturbing, specifically his daughter. She is beyond rude, disrespectful, arrogant and at best, should probably be treated for mental illness herself. She has been rude and disrespectful so many times in the past, to all of us, that we feel that we have no recourse but to make a change. Please note that Dr. Schapiro is not included as a provider on our Insurance, yet we felt so strongly that Dr. Schapiro was such a good Dr that we paid, out of pocket, for his service. But to continually deal with disrespectful staff leaves us with no choice but to say goodbye. Dr. Schapiro, you will be sincerely missed.

I don't know where he found his office staff, but they are extremely rude and they do nothing to help at all.

AVOID -

rude office staff...especially manager. They tell you not to come back if u have problem.

I have always had a very positive experience with Dr. Schapiro. I, too, am a Doctor in Boca Raton. I have always felt that he has listened to me; never rushed me out of the office; included family members in sessions and has always given me refills on all scripts and will see me if I want to come back sooner than my next planned appointment. Sure, he is mostly medication management. But he is knowledgeable about his psycho pharmacology. He will often recommend concurrent counselling with a psychotherapist whom he will personally communicate with to coordinate your treatment.

Doctor refuses to return phone calls. Prefers to communicate through extremely rude office receptionist who is more interested in arguing then listening.

Awful experience do not recommend at all

Nice man- long wait and then you get 15 min. tops to explain problem- I have always had depression and he treated me but I am having severe depression-have to wait for next visit(one month) 1st time I saw him went home and cried I so badly wanted help but with insurance I can't hop around to doctors I'll try 3rd time next week. If anyone has something to add I'd like to hear.T D.

i read the reviews above and i really dont understand how those people lied that much. im a patient of dr schapiro for years and he saved my life gave me a normal life. and he toptally doesnt prescribe rx's for 1 month only, that is a lie. if he does he probabl;y wants to check on you how you do. psychiatry is a hard specialty and remember each med is working different in people. he does not nod all the time, he listens and asks questions.excellent doctor. period.

Unable to keep his appointment times and over books his schedule.
