Dr. Salomon Banarer, MD

This doc should have a 5 star review. He truly cares. The people that rate him lower is probably because they don’t want to hear the truth. I am a nurse and he is matter of fact when I go see him. He wants what is best for his patients. Julie Ortiz

I have Type 2 Diabetes and have rarely had good control. My Primary Care Physician has always monitored and helped me try to get it under control, but recently recommended that I needed to see an Endocrinologist, specifically Dr. Banarer. Since I have had a couple bad experiences with other doctors, he cautioned me to be patient and prepared that Dr. Banarer has a "no nonsense manner" and has been known to "fire" patients who show no evidence of following his advice and instructions. My first visit with him was very business like, but not rude or unfriendly. At my next appointment, much to my surprise, he was very pleased with the results of my bloodwork and said I was doing a good job. I had not thought I was doing that well. At the end of the visit, he shook my hand and smiled and said to just keep it up. I look forward to working with him for a long time.

Dr. Banarer and his staff are wonderful. I almost always have little to no wait at my thyroid appointments. If we have nothing to discuss, the whole appointment may last 20 min, including blood draw and vitals. Dr. Banarer is caring and always takes time to listen to my thyroid concerns. I have been coming to the practice for many years and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

He listens to me and always has the latest information on diabetes. I have gone to Dr. Banarer for over 18 years. I would NOT go to anyone else.

I had a very positive first visit with Dr Banarer. He was very knowledgeable, polite and openly answered all of my questions. I'm happy I established myself as his patient.

Dr. Banarer is my second endocrinologist since my thyroid was removed due to cancer. My first doctor was good, however he moved away and the practice he was associated with was not patient friendly. Dr. Banarer seems to be knowledgeable, spent considerable time with me and the follow up was great. He personally called me which is unusual for most doctors today. The office staff was easy to deal with and pleasant.

I have been going to Dr Banarer for almost 2 years. I have Graves Disease and hyperthyroidism. Dr. Banarer was nothing but concerened and patient with me. I lost my job while under his care and had no insurance. His office worked with me on a very reasonable cash price in order for me to continue to receive the bloodwork test needed to help me adjust my medication. I also had to take the radioactive iodine treatment, and his office referred me to a Internist that worked with me on a cash price also. I highly recommend Dr. Banarer.

I've been dealing with thyroid issues for years and was referred to this office by someone I know. I originally was seeing another endo in the office, but he left the practice, so the appointment ladies booked me with Dr. Barnarer. I just never felt comfortable with him. His bedside manner is horrible. I told him that I'd seen many doctors and really wanted someone to treat me based on how I felt/my symptoms and not simply off my blood work values. He said in no uncertain terms that he would not do that, that he will treat me based off my numbers. He was also very dismissive, abrupt, condescending in how he spoke to me and unfriendly. The "last straw" for me was when I was when I was in need of a refill for my thyroid medicine (remember, this is something I *must* take every day). I was due for an office visit, but could not make it in in time. I asked to get a short supply refill (just a few days' worth) to hold me over until I could get in to the office, and they refused. Refused… a medication that I *have* to take every single day. I wasn't trying to skip my appointment; my work schedule prevented me from coming in at that time and I would have to wait a few days to a week. I simply needed a few days' worth of thyroid pills to hold me over. I was not asking for something unreasonable as I've had other doctors do this for me when my schedule got in the way of an appointment. So I told the nurse that I would just have to change doctors because I could not wait on getting my medicine. The next week I received what I can only call a "break up" letter from Dr. Barnarer in the mail, where he rudely stated that he would no longer see me as a patient. First of all, I already told his office I would be switching doctors. Secondly, this is extremely unprofessional, rude and unacceptable. I completely blew my mind. I've seen been seeing my general practitioner to regulate my thryoid levels since then, and I couldn't be happier.
