Dr. Sam Edwin Sato, MD

Dr. Sato is fine. Staff is horrible. My son see's him every 6 months. Had scheduled time off to take him to his eye appt and the doors were locked. Knowone called. Knowone rescheduled. Knowone called to say one single thing about that day or him not being in office. I live far, I work far. His office is far and his other office is even further. I just tried to make an appointment and now I can't bc my son needs a new referral which has never been requested and my son has been seeing him for years. I'm so tired of this office. Its unfortunate that Dr. Sato is not aware of his staffs failures that effect his business.

The doctor is good, but you barely see him and mostly deal with techs and office staff. First it took almost 3 weeks to get a return call because when you finally speak to someone they complain about being short staffed. They sent texts to people no longer authorized to receive information and insist they didn’t only to then tell you it’s a different system and company and it has glitches. The receptionist actually stated they do not record contact information in patients charts. The tech during the appointment told a 5 year old the eye drops to dilate eyes for exam would hurt and burn and then got irritated saying you’ll have to reschedule when said 5 year old was now afraid of eye drops. The doctor was the best part of the visit but he comes in for maybe 5 minutes and that’s it while you get to interact with office staff that don’t even know what contact information is. The office staff can make or break an appointment and this staff broke it.

I have taken my 5 year old son there before and the only acceptable customer service was from the staff, not Dr Sam E Sato. After the eye exam on my son, Dr Sato was asked if he could check the new frames to see how they fit my son's face before leaving the room...Dr. Sato walked out, without turning around and stated "That's not my job!" Rude and disrespectful & will not return!

Dr Sato is apparently unreachable. I had appointment scheduled for 7 months. In that time it was rescheduled twice. Then I got a text, email and phone call to confirm my appointment. After I confirmed I got a message saying my appointment was moved to the other location. I get there and it has been cancelled, we can reschedule for 1month or more out but can't be seen today. No there is no manager here to speak with.

I have taken my daughter to Dr. Sato for many years and I have finally had enough. The wait times are horrible. Gave her a prescription for a really low prescription when she had a +6 prescription before this is all in a 4 week time frame. He does not listen when you tell him your concerns he just walks out of the room. Can not take anymore of the rudeness so we will find a new doctor. Although I gave the star for his staff (which are amazing!!!!) not for him.

Prescribed me medicine that made my conidtion worse and made me temporarily blind out of one eye. Please find a different doctor.

Terrible wait times, every time I have had to take my daughter in, we spend hours just waiting. The office closes at random times(a pain when you go to pick up lenses and they aren't there!) Answering service only works part of the time . My daughter's prescription was extremely innacurate when she went to get a new perscription from Dr Sato after the other doctor left the practice. When we told him, he was arrogant about it and not at all apologetic. We have since left to another doctor.

Dr. Sato is very patient and caring. I got my eyes dilated and it did take extra time but I ended up with great glasses and could see better than I had ever seen before!

My daughters and I had been going to Dr. Sam Sato for 20 years, truly a wonderful experience!!!! Since then my girls have grown up and move out of state, I retired and moved out of state. I sure wish Dr. Sato could be here with us too. Dr, Sato is a wonderful caring eye doctor!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Sato is clearly over booking patients so he can bill more. This results in long wait times, several hours past the original appointment time. This is unacceptable.
