Dr. Sam Louis Unterricht, MD

Out of four appointments with Dr. Unterricht he showed up over 1 /12 hours late to his office twice. Then there was another 1 1/2 - 2 hours waiting for him to catch up. No patient deserves this level of disrespect.

Office is in top notch neighborhood but office and equipment inside is not modern, up-to-date or clean. Doctor's manner is brusque. On the plus side, He did explain what problems with eyes were, how to apply the medications he prescribed, and what the next procedure would be. The receptionist/secretary was lovely.

Dr. arrives 2 hours late on average wtih an office full of patients

After a wait of almost 3 hours the doctor spent less than 2 minutes with me. He barely looked at my eyes (look at the right, left, that's it). He did not even checked the back of the eye, IOP, nothing. His assistant checked the pressure twice and both times the readings were different, so much for accuracy. He rushed me out and asked to follow up in a couple of months. The office operates like a sweat shop, with people standing in the waiting area. I would not mind the wait if the doctor showed interest and spent a reasonable amount of time in the examination. He does the surgeries in the hospital. I accompanied somebody that spent the entire day sometimes standing due to lack of seating arrangements. It is an experience to see this doctor and sure will not repeat it!
