Dr. Sam John Venus, MD

Dr. Venus was the ICU physician for my mom at Advent Health, Winter Park and although I don’t normally write reviews I had to acknowledge him for the most amazing care I have seen in my opinion. He was empathetic, knowledgeable, and really put my mom at ease. My mom.has a rare condition and he was able to stabilize her successfully. Dr. Venus had the best bedside manners, explained everything well, made himself available even though he was extremely busy and went above and beyond in his care towards my mom.

Dr. Venus is currently treating my husband who has many problems including Sarcoma in his lungs and heart problems. He is extremely kind and very detailed when communicating with me about my husband's issues and possible outcomes. He gives me a thorough report every day and answers any questions I have. I have honestly have never met a doctor before that was so kind and so meticulous.

She was admitted with a severe illness that was eventually diagnosed as sepsis Class 3 strep meningitis. On day 2 she went into cardiac arrest and Dr Venus brought her back to life. Using high powered antibiotics and a vent tube, she gradually regained consciousness and was airlifted back home to Canada after 8 days of fantastic care at Dr Philips. We will be eternally grateful to not only Dr Venus, but to the other Critical Care Doctors and Nurses who provided her with excellent care. Today she is back to her old self and look forward to returning to Orlando this winter.

He doesn't see patients in an office because he is Critical Care but he took care of one of my family members and was patient, thoughtful, courteous and very knowledgeable in updating us. We felt the love. Anyway that's why I didn't "star" the questions that had to do with Physicians who have an office practice.
