After I poked my eye with a thin wooden stick the day before, I was in pain, but thought it would subside and heal on its own. The next morning, the pain was worse. I wasn’t sure where the best place to get help. After exploring possibilities, the Pomona Valley Health Center at Claremont Urgent Care on Monte Vista Avenue felt like it was the right place for me. Turns out I was right!!!!! I found them to be extraordinary! I first spoke to Mila at Claremont Urgent Care on the phone when inquiring about what I’d need to do to come into Urgent Care. She was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and educated me about the process. Not long after I arrived at Urgent Care, Reanna at the front desk assisted me in the same caring, warm, and welcoming way as Mila. She guided me to the next step before I saw Dr. Saman Aboudi, who would check my eye. Reanna introduced me to LVN Raevyn, who gave me an eye test, the kind we take at the DMV, weighed me, took my blood pressure, and performed other tests.… She, too, was ultra warm, caring, knowledgeable, and organized. And, notice that they all have beautiful first names, and are as beautiful as they are as people. Next, I met Dr. Saman Aboudi, who was also warm, caring, personable, a good communicator, and a listener. He was a competent and knowledgeable emergency doctor who has to know a lot about all our issues—and he did. I told Dr. Aboudi how I poked my and and with what. He explained to me the details about my injury in a way easy to understand and said he needed to check to see if I scratched my eyeball and had a corneal abrasion. He asked LVN Mauricio to bring him the drops necessary to check to see if I had a corneal abrasion. Unfortunately, Mauricio learned that they didn’t have the necessary eye drops and were on back order. I was told that I’d have to go to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center on Garey Ave in Pomona. I was disappointed because I liked Dr. Aboudi and everyone else I’d met, too, and worked with earlier. I had this fantasy that there’d be just one bottle left tucked in the back of the closet where the drops were kept. I would ask to show me where they’re kept, and I’d find it. But I didn’t ask Dr. Aboudi or anyone if I could look, even though I didn’t want to leave this ideal place for me. Instead, I went to the front desk to let Raeanna know what happened and to find out what needed to be done here. As I was talking to Raeanna for just a minute or so, someone behind her invited me back in because Dr. Aboudi now has what is needs to see if my cornea was scratched. A miracle!! Now I won’t have to figure out how to get to Pomona Valley Hospital without a car. LVN Mauricio created today’s miracle. Obviously, he cares about patients because he could easily have taken the attitude of we don’t have the drops, and the patient will have to go to the closest hospital, which in this case was Pomona. Instead, I learned from him that he went to one of the Pomona Valley Health Center’s Primary Doctors, a few doors down, and asked if they had what Dr. Aboudi needed to check to see if my cornea was scratched. They did! I was led back to the examination room where Dr. Aboudi was standing, holding what he needed to check my eye, and said with a big smile, “It’s a Miracle.” In a matter of minutes, Dr. Aboudi checked my eye and I did have a scratched eyeball and was prescribed the drops I needed to help my eye heal, along with detailed Discharge Instructions and the results of all the tests I was given that day with with detailed follow-up instructions. I feel like I just attended a college class. That’s good because I love learning, especially when it helps me heal. Will I go to PVHC at Claremont Urgent Care again? Absolutely! And I’m telling everyone how extraordinary Dr. Aboudi, LVNs Raevyn and Mauricio, Reanna, and Mila are because they’re the best of the best people are part of this Urgent Care for all the reasons I’ve shared!

Excellent and very nice doctor. Have seen him a few times before and would recommend him to anyone that needs immediate care and treatment.

Dr.Aboudi was pleasant, thorough, and professional. Didn’t rush our visit and seemed to understand the urgency I had. I will return to use this urgent care. Impressed with the care I received from Doctor.
