With over 10 years of experience she has seen the difficulty some patients have getting to their regular office appointments. PRENATAL CHIROPRACTIC CARE

Dr. Samantha Boyd specializes in Prenatal Chiropractic Care.  She is certified in the Webster Technique which is the main chiropractic technique used to provide care for pregnant women.  Why is chiropractic care important during pregnancy? Even though pregnancy is a special time during a woman's life, it puts a lot of stress on a woman's body.  Chiropractic care focuses on the alignment of the spine and pelvis.  This stress being put on the woman's body can cause the spine and pelvis to become misaligned.  As the baby grows and the woman continues to gain weight during pregnancy this additional  stress and pressure on her body will continue to grow.  Also, during pregnancy certain hormones are secreted which cause the joints, muscles, and ligaments to relax to get the body ready for labor and delivery.   However they make it easier for the spine and pelvis to get out of alignment.  Misalignments during pregnancy can commonly cause back pain, sciatica, hip pain, pubic pain, and neck pain.  Chiropractic care during pregnancy can help you maintain your alignment  and either treat or prevent pain during pregnancy.  Not only does chiropractic care treat the cause of many conditions, but it is natural and non-invasive  and therefore does not introduce anything harmful the body or baby.  Also, many women who have had more than one baby reported having a better labor and delivery with chiropractic care.
