Dr. Samantha Slotnick, OD, FAAO, FOVDR, discovered Behavioral Optometry through her own life-changing experience. As a child she struggled with tracking problems and was diagnosed with a “lazy eye.” Classroom learning relied on listening because reading was difficult. She lost her place, words seemed to swim across the page, and she sometimes experienced double vision. It wasn’t until after college, when she was prescribed her first pair of bifocals, that everything changed. That weekend she read a book for pleasure for the first time in eight years, inspiring her to pursue optometry.

Today Dr. Slotnick combines clinical expertise with personal insight to provide compassionate, results-driven care. Her background in visual rehabilitation gives her a unique perspective on binocular vision disorders, tracking difficulties, depth perception issues, and eye-hand coordination challenges. Through years of hands-on …therapy and self-directed visual training, she has reduced her own glasses prescription significantly (improving one eye by seven steps and the other by four), proving the power of targeted vision therapy.
