Excellent, compassionate physician!

My 6 year old grandson and I were involved in a severe car crash in which we were hit from behind. He was transported by ambulance due to neck pain. Dr Samara was very unprofessional in that she did a very minimal examination of him. She asked him if his neck hurt and when he said no (he is shy and I informed her of that) she released him without any testing. She was very short with her answers when questioned and we were sent on our way with very little to go on. Given his age I feel that there should have been more precautions taken. Due to the nature of the crash and the fact that he is a small child, without an X-ray or something else to go on he could have had a very serious injury that could have resulted in a tragedy because of a negligent ER doctor. He has since suffered with headaches and neck pain. Could it have been prevented if treated in the ER?

I understand people have bad days, but to roll your eyes at the concerns of my 5yr olds andominal/side pains is absolutely disgusting! "She has come to know belly pains are associated with strep throat" is what her first words were! She distracted him and said his reaction was negative for pain because he didnt show it" He is five with the pain tolerance of a teenager! It was like she had something else better to do! Not once did she even seem genuinely concerned with my child. Antibiotics were peracribed and we were sent home, and that was after strep throat was negative.... But she said his throat "looked horrible"?? I felt like she was like " Another young mom over reacting " but NOT the case when he was sent homs with a 102.4 fever!!!! Leaving the office I felt so discouraged an now even more so after thinking about my experience more and more! Sorry I am not sorry for giving a bad review.. I felt very disrespected and unheard! We seen her at portage ER.

Most caring ER doc I have ever encountered.

Amazingly caring and competent physician. Excellent bedside manner; she takes the time to listen and takes the time to explain. She advises what she is considering as a possible diagnosis, explains laboratory results, and then explains why she reached her conclusion. If she had a private practice, I would certainly be one of her patients.

very unprofessional. lies. said my labs were normal when they were not. did test without telling me what was being done or explaining what they were for.
