Summary
Dr. Samir Baig was inspired early in life by parents who worked as healthcare professionals, witnessing firsthand the positive impact they made in their communities and in the lives of their patients. This formative experience led Dr. Baig to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Baig attended the University of New York at Buffalo, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in biological sciences, and was selected for early admission to the University’s School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree.
Dr. Baig’s commitment to global and community health is reflected in his completion of a residency program in preventive medicine at the University of Michigan, where he also earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH). He has served as a consultant for the World Health Organization in the Philippines and the Public Health Foundation of India in New Delhi. Dr. Baig later focused on bedside medicine, completing anesthesiology residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in …Milwaukee, and practiced anesthesia in Los Angeles for four years before completing further training at Stanford University’s Pain Medicine Fellowship Program in Palo Alto.
Currently, Dr. Baig practices at OrthoIllinois, specializing in non-surgical, multi-modal pain management. He offers advanced therapies such as peripheral nerve stimulation, peripheral joint and vertebral radiofrequency ablation, and platelet-rich plasma injections. Dr. Baig is dedicated to giving patients a voice in their care, providing honest assessments of available options and expected results, and working collaboratively to develop personalized, comprehensive treatment plans.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Baig enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with family. Dr. Baig looks forward to meeting new patients and working together to help them return to a more active and pain-free life.
