Dr. Samir Khanjar, MD

At 20 weeks I had a heavy bleeding episode where the blood was just pouring down my leg after my shower. We had waited 10 yrs and did IVF using the last of our frozen embryos for this pregnancy. It was late at night so I went to the ER. Khanjar was my Dr and happened to be on call at the ER that night. By the time I got to the hospital the bleeding had stopped. The nurses working called him to see what he wanted to do. Since he had just left the hospital he didn't want to come back and told them to send me home. No ultrasound or anything. I called him the next morning to try to see what to do about work since I work 12hr shifts in Manufacturing on my feet with some heavy lifting. He advised me that he didn't need to see my and I was fine to continue to work. I called my friends mom who's a doula to ask her opinion because I was really worried. She suggested not going into work and getting a second opinion. She referred me to a high risk doctor who saw me immediately. He sent… me right away for a ultrasound and saw there was a large bleed due to placenta previa. I was put on bedrest right away. I continued to bleed and at 25 weeks I was admitted to the hospital for risk of hemorrhage. I stayed in the hospital until I delivered at 32 weeks. If I hadn't gotten a second opinion and stayed with Khanjar I would have definitely miscarried. He could have cared less. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone!!!

Khanjar has God given talent as a delivery doc but it's hidden but the fact the he lacks bed side manners and has little compassion for his patients.

I went with a family member for support to this doctor and just like the one review back in 2013 this doctor did the same exact thing and came in and completely ignored me. Introduced himself to my family member and started talking to my family member like nothing. I tried asking him a question about some of the things he was saying and he goes ‘and who are you?’ Extremely rude doctor. Then my family member asked questions and he kept talking not even acknowledging the questions. His demeanor since coming in in the beginning was very snobby and bothered. This is very first time I ever encountered behavior like this and unprofessionalism in a doctor. I am so glad I wasn’t seeing him for myself because I would NOT EVERRRR go to a doctor like this.

Dr.Khanjar was my doctor throughout my pregnancy and I loved him he made me feel comfortable and safe. I ended up having an emergency C-section and Dr. Knapp delivered my son. He as well did a fantastic job!

Dr. Khanjar tells you how it is whether you like it or not. He's a butt. Point blank. And there has been times where hes really got to me. But I wouldn't had of wanted anyone else to deliver my son. He was awesome. He knows what he is doing. Yes he is cocky. But he's probaby the top doctor in Maryland for delivering babies. He knows his stuff. And you gotta take him with a grain of salt and if he really irritates you get smart back.

If I could give him no stars I would . He made my first experience at premier health a horrible one I actually cared when I got home ,he is very rude and not kind with words ! Dr. knapp is the best doctor to have ! He listens he kinda nd he is proactive ! I love how he takes care of his patients nd makes them feel at home with him ,He's a very trust worthy guy

Unfortunately because of my insurance dr khan jar is my only option. However he can be extremely rude one appt and completely nice the next! I wonder if he's been checked for bipolar?! When I was pregnant with my son I had an appt on fri afternoon I said I was having contractions ( keep in mind this was my third child) neither dr khan jar nor dr knapp could be bothered to even check my cervix. I was told to go home and rest which I did ( I still was not due for 6 weeks) by 2 am I was in full blown labor that could not be stopped and gave birth to my son in our bathroom with no medical assistance. When I told the drs what happened the response was " we'll stuff happens..." No one even asked how my child not myself was!

My wife and I went in to see Dr. Khanjar for a routine 1st trimester appointment. This was my first time going to one of the appointments, and when the Doctor came in he didn't even look at me and started talking to my wife about her pregnancy. A couple minutes later he asked if there were any questions, and I said "Hi, my name is Justin". His response was "That is not a question". I responded back with "Well, normally when you first meet someone you introduce yourself first, that's the polite thing to do." His response was to say "OK" and then continued talking to Sarah about her pregnancy. He didn't introduce himself, apologize, or anything. There are 3 possibilities: he was having a bad day, he doesn't know how to communicate to human beings, or he's a donkey. Whichever is the case, my wife and I were amazed at how rude he was and clearly will NOT be going back to see this guy again.

I moved to the area in 2011 and after finding out that I was pregnant, pretty much drew his name out of a hat and made an appointment. I was so lucky that I found such an awesome doctor who is such a good match for me. Dr. Khanjar is honest and doesn't sugarcoat things, which I like. His personality is not for everyone though. He is also very educated in current research and although he is very thorough, he doesn't feel the need to get you worried about every little thing. My first pregnancy ultimately ended in a miscarriage and he showed great compassion. I really got the feeling that he knew what I was going through, which isn't easy for a man to do. I am pregnant again and he has been my doctor from the beginning. The only thing negative I can say is that he does seem to have his busy days in which he rushes through appointments. I also love the fact that his head nurse is always friendly and down to earth.
