Dr. Samir Piyush Parikh, MD

Dr. Parikh has been one of the best doctors I've ever had... Would absolutely recommend him to anyone!! I come from a family of Dr.'s and nurses, and even they couldn't believe the level of care he was providing throughout the entire process (FYI, they helped me vet him prior to my consult as well, absolutely solid education and has been doing this a long time). NOT A FAKE REVIEW (I'm a real person), just because I am saying a ton of good things, some people actually earn it... I was originally seen for a degenerated disc that ruptured, pinching my sciatic nerve. I did originally consult more than one neurosurgeon, but ultimately chose Dr. Parikh because I truly felt he would provide far superior care. I ABSOLUTELY made the right choice... He got me in FAST (called 30+ doctors on my insurance approved list, and only 2 could see me within a weeks time...), and his consultation was absolutely thorough and he was attentive the entire time. He walked me through my entire MRI, instead of… just taking a single snapshot of the most problematic area like the other consult did, which as it turns out left out a ton of information knowing what Dr. Parikh had already gone over with me... By the end I knew exactly what the problem was, and what option was best for me. The other consult was suggesting a much more invasive and extreme operation that would have been far more debilitating and had FAR longer downtime. Dr. Parikh took the time to discuss it with me, and I agreed that it was ultimately unnecessary for my current health needs. Even after the surgery, him and his staff have helped get every bit of pre and post op care out of my insurance I could hope for, and that's saying something with my insurance plan!!! lol. Home health nurses that come to my home daily, PT's coming multiple times a week, and the hospital he chose for my surgery was small but very nice. I got much more personalized care than I probably would have at some giant hospital around here... And he actually helped me throughout the entire thing manage the IMMENSE amount of pain I was in, which it was nice not to feel immediately persecuted by a doctor just by MENTIONING pain like you do with too many doctors nowadays... And this is coming from someone that didn't take any pain killers after a motorcycle accident that shattered my clavicle awhile back... Don't be swayed by the lower number of Yelp reviews, or just because his office may not be a GIANT building with 30 surgeons on staff... You shouldn't be impressed by the building your doctor works out of, you should be impressed by the doctor!

I do not recommend this doctor. If I’d not fired him and called the hospitalization, my husband might not be here. Great personality. Not a great doctor.

I have read many of the wonderful reviews about Dr. Parikh. I understand every word they say. I feel the same way each one of them do about Dr. Parikh. He did lumbar surgery and neck surgery on me 8 years ago with complete success. Noone can comprehend how important Dr. Parikh's medical knowledge is unless they have experienced lumbar surgery. I speak with people who have had this type of surgery that were not successful. They are on walkers or in wheel chairs because their surgeon was incapable. I am so thankful for Dr. Parikh. I can do anything I want to do. He was a miracle worker for me as I am sure he has been for many others. I love him and appreciate his kindness, his friendship and his ability to make life so much better for me. Marjorie Morgan

Exactly one year ago, I had a herniated disk pressing up against my sciatic nerve and Dr. Sammy healed me. He makes you feel more like a friend than a patient and communicates thru text. HOW COOL IS THAT? You will never meet a doctor such as him that is so knowledgeable, caring and very kind. So blessed to call him, not only my doctor, but a friend for life.

Oh my sweet Dr Sammy Patrick, What a great doctor you are. You have kept my family in good health for so long. I miss the dallas metorplex, you have no idea. I am in Austin with all the COOL people. (lol) You should be rated tops for your knowledge, expertise, and taking care of your patients always with a smile. You spend the time necessary to explain everything in detail. You are more than a doctor, you have a good relationship with your patients. THANK YOU for taking such good care of us. Think of your often. Without you I double I would be alive today.

Doctor Sammy is the most talented Neurosurgeon I know (and I have had experiences with quite a few). In the past, I have had multiple spinal fusions, and his professionalism and bedside manner is unparalleled by any medical professional! I would recommend him to my closest friends and family should a surgical need arise without hesitation. His depth of knowledge, level of care, and genuine concern for all his patients is unmatched! Period. This level of care is not found in the medical field often, so take advantage of the kindest, most caring, attentive, and knowledgeable Doctor if you have a need for surgery, or even non-surgical care (he will not cut on you unless it is absolutely necessary). It doesn't matter if it is minimally invasive procedure or a major surgery. His level of dedication to the care you are given will not waiver! Best Neurosurgeon in my book, hands down! This Doctor truly cares about his patients. He is in constant direct contact with his patients. He is very down to earth and has a great gift as well as a great personality.

Honestly, I don't know where to begin. Dr. Sammy Parikh started out as a friend. So when my 84 year old mother needed to be seen for her severe pain, we immediately called Dr. Parikh. Her other doctors had masked her pain with heavy pain pills and pain injections. Dr. Parikh took one look at her MRI and discovered her issue....a pinched nerve in her spine. We scheduled surgery to take care of this problem. Dr. Parikh is so calm and caring. He reassured my mom so much before surgery. Two months later, she is doing beautifully. THANK YOU, Dr. Parikh. The respect my family and I have for you is beyond words.

I have only just recently started my excursion with Dr. Parikh. However, should you be in need of a "real" Neurosurgeon; I would recommend this doctor to anyone! He is totally dedicated & thorough in finding out exactly ills you. Leaving no stone unturned. He is the positively most attentive doctor I have seen in many years!!! Believe me when I say that; I have seen many in the last 20 years & Dr. Parikh is absolutely excellent!!! Gotta love him!!!

It was total fate that I found Dr. Parikh. I had had previous lumbar surgery before meeting Dr. Parikh. Scar tissue had formed and nerve pain had resulted from the hardware that had been put in place from the previous surgery. The nerve pain was so severe, my slightest movement was intolerable. There is NO worse pain that nerve pain. Dr Parikh went in and removed all the scar tissue and took out the hardward as well as fused the number 2 and three verabrae. This was an extremely tedious surgery. He was so meticulous. He explained the procedure to me prior and after. He made sure of my medical care during my hospital stay and throughout my recovery. This surgery has truly changed my quality of life. It has been three years and I am no longer in that horrible pain. I recommended Dr. Parikh to my son who was in terrible condition after a car ran into him while crossing the street. Dr. Parikh did his surgery with amazing results. We are both proud to know and recommend Dr. Parikh.
