Dr. Samir Sairam, MD

Dr Sairam is my parent's physician at a nursing home. I have found him to be willing to explain complicated illnesses, answer my questions, and speak to my parent respectfully. He doesn't believe in piling on the medication, which I appreciate, and consistently helps me set reasonable expectations regarding my parent's functionality, focusing on their quality of life. I have seen him sit with other patients, family and care givers, and give them the same thoughtful attention. There are times when I have felt a little guilty as if I am taking up his time when he is rounding on his patients, but he has never rushed me through a conversation. If there was one critique, it is that occasionally he speaks to me about my parent in the third person, even though they are right there (not entirely surprising as my parent and many of the other patients at the nursing home have some cognitive issues)- yet when I involve my parent in the conversation, he picks up the social cue quickly and… restarts integrating them into the conversation. His bedside manner is warm and conversational, and my parent likes him. As I consider the overall care Dr. Sairam has given my loved one, I feel an exceptional amount of gratitude for his expertise in gerontological issues and his advice on how to navigate my parent's care. It is crushing seeing a parent experience chronic health issues and decline - and Dr. Sairam has made it all a little less awful for my family.

He goes beyond and above to take care of his patience, very hard working, his diagnostic skills are excellent. I will definitely recommend dr. Samir Sai Ram 100%.
