We have taken our son to see Samirah for over 3 years. After this time span, we have determined that Samirah and her staff at My Kids Dental and Orthodontics should consider looking into other lines of work. Between the attitudes, incompetence and lack of communication, we think they may have contributed to issues with my son’s teeth. Our concerns are improper diagnosis and improper treatment of issues that we believe were poorly communicated by the staff. Furthermore, when we changed insurance providers, the Dental office wasn’t capable of contacting the insurance company in the month provided to them before the visit. The office contacted us a day before the visit and told us we had to pay cash because they didn’t follow up with the Insurance Company. To make matters worse, we went from no issues to needing multiple crowns in 6 months? It’s possible, but after looking further into years of X-rays with my childhood hood dentist, we found what we believe to be a lack of diagnosis at an… early stage of a multiple cavities. These cavities may have been the result of an ineffective cavity treatment performed prior, as the affected location did not change. The attitudes from Samirah were a blast as well. Normal professional conversations, where I would ask for explanations and understanding, were responded with condensation and a short temper from Samirah. Samirah and her staff also failed to upload their findings and treatment plant to app provided by them. Even when asked to weeks after the visit they were not capable. Instead they emailed us a treatment plan from a visit in the past. I was in disbelief at the level of incompetence displayed at almost every possible opportunity. The last straw was when the staff took the liberty of scheduling an appointment for our son after we explained that we wanted to seek another opinion and for them not to schedule a follow up appointment yet. When we decided to proceed and schedule an emergency appointment for work to be done, she decided to refuse to see our son. ??. I question the professional integrity of Samirah Farouk DMD. This was by far the wildest and disappointing interaction I have had with a dentist and staff. If you care about your child’s mouth, do your homework, and find a dentist who won’t contribute to a problem and then hide instead of fixing their mistakes.
