Dr. Sampath Kumar Manickam, MD

Dr. Manickam is very knowledgeable, caring and understanding of patients needs. He diagnosed a condition that was overlooked for many years. He has gone the extra mile to help make my work environment more conducive to my condition. He put up with a lot of the crazy HR paperwork to help me. He never gave up.

I had a diagnosis of incurable Lupus when I was referred to Dr. Manickam. After several blood tests, one referral to a wonderful dermatologist the final diagnosis was that I had a rare occurrence of Lupus caused by a prescription medication I had been taking for over 5 years. He examined all my records, told me to quit taking the medication I had been prescribed in another state. My rash went away, and the joint pain slowly went away. He also prescribed a medication for my back pain. It really helps. I also have severe Apraxia in my eyes from a rare disorder called Benign Essential Blepharospasm. I have been told I have the worse case of Apraxia and I have suffered with this disorder for 24 years. I think because the medication helps my back with muscle spasms, it may have a direct correlation in helping my eye muscles with the Apraxia. I can drive, walk without stumbling and almost feel completely normal. This should be noted by physicians or eye doctors treating Blepharospasm. I have… seen many doctors over my lifetime and Dr. Manickam measures in the top of the medical profession I have experienced as professional and as a patient.

My office visit with Dr. Sampath Manickam went well. We discussed my medication change for Lupus. He answered all my questions during the visit. I have since thought of several questions that I will follow up through the portal with the doctor.

I initially met Tanya his nurse who was very professional and made me feel very comfortable. Very easy to talk to and give information. Dr. Manickam was very thorough and went over all my medical history with Gulf Coast Medical Group. We discussed my diagnosis after his examination. I was also given more orders for tests and will be following up with Dr. Manickam who is very kind and knowledgeable in treating my diagnosis.

Dr Manickam is a terrific MD. He is knowledgeable, kind, and has a pleasant disposition.

Dr Manickam thoroughly inquires of condition and symptoms and he has been meticulous about keeping meds in sync with my condition. He explains in detail his reasoning and strategy for treatment. And he also has invaluable knowledge and experience with associated specialists.

Dr Manickam is a fantastic Dr. His staff is also caring and friendly.

Excellent! It may have taken a bit for him to come in, his MA said, "he is reviewing your paperwork." To which, I thought yes, that is what they all say. Well, it was absolutely clear he reviewed them all!! Not only that, but he spent an HOUR WITH ME. When does that happen? He walked through everything and we are coming up with a plan for my symptoms. He also called me as promised later that day and 2 more times after I missed the call to fill out important paperwork, just unheard of! RECOMMEND!
