Dr. Samuel D. Blackwell, MD

I have read a lot of negative things about Peak Family since Duke took over, but I have to disagree. I have never had a problem getting an appointment. And before Duke took over I had difficulty getting a call back if I needed to talk to so done. Now I get a reply every time! There is a new nurse who is super nice and really cares about taking care of things properly.. The staff in general seem to smile more and I am proud to say we get great service and care! Thank you Duke Peak Famy medicine!

I have seen Dr. Blackwell for years and when Duke was going to take over, I thought as long as he is there, I will still go. Since Duke took over, they got rid of almost all the good staff, except for Sabrina and Janina, at the front desk, who are both really nice, and Jessica who is part of their medical staff and really fantastic. The office manager, who was always so helpful and was kind to both me and my family, is not there anymore, as well. The rest are disorganized, rude, and don't even seem to care about not only me and my family but also the office. Even Dr. Blackwell now seems different... he used to take the time with us and really listen - now it seems cold, mechanical, and all about pushing us in and out to make an extra buck. It's a shame, they all used to be warm and friendly, and other than a few remaining originals that are still great, the rest are terrible. Before Duke: highly recommended, After Duke: Run Away!!

My entire family has been going to this practice for over 10 years. Dr. Blackwell is great, and his staff who has been with him for years. (Little turn over means alot.) If there is an issue, all you need to do is speak with him. It will be taken care of.

The last straw was when I had tests run and the office called my home phone (although I specifically said to call my cell since I work) and asked me to call back to discuss the results. I called back and got voicemail. Three days and two follow-up calls from me later... I still had not spoken to a live person and did not know what my results meant. I then sent a message through their online system... no response two days later. I just cancelled my follow-up appointment and will be collecting my medical records to take to another doctor. I like Dr. Blackwell, but I think very little of his support staff.
