Dr. Samuel Jemar Boynton, MD

I went to a hospital for a test called a Cisternogram where a lumbar puncture is done and dye is inserted into the spinal fluid and then additional scans are done to monitor how the spinal fluid is circulating. I had never had one done before and I was assigned Dr Boynton. The procedure was so painful that I thought I was going to vomit, in fact they had to put cold towels on me because I was sweating so much. He finished the procedure and said that he wanted me to have a CT scan because he got some blood, I believe he meant in the syringe, and he might have nicked a vessel. I then found out the test failed and I would have to reschedule and have the procedure done again. I chose to go to a different hospital and have a different doctor do it. I was amazed when this other doctor did the same procedure and it was painless and it was successful and I didn’t need two follow up CT scans because of the blood issue. I will never go back to Dr Boynton. These tests do fail, I understand that… but why the lumbar puncture was so painful with him, I have no idea.
